Cough
Well, I'm still sick. I've broken down and made a doctor's appointment for today.
I was reading loren's site earlier today, and I have found a new purpose in life: Geocaching. As soon as I get some time and some scratch, I'm totally getting a cheap GPS, and taking the kids to do this. It looks awesome.
Thought for Today:
"If you sacrifice others for yourself, you will suffer the consequences."

Hope you feel better Wil!
Get sleep, drink lots of fluids, and REST!

I disagree with your thought for today. If you sacrifice others for yourself they will also feel the consequences. But I know you were talking in a less immediate, more karmatic (if that is a word) way. Plus if you sarifice yourself for others you will most definitely feel the consequences. This is the truth I am faced with as I am dealing with one of the hardest decisions in my life.

I was looking into Geocaching a year or so ago, but I completely forgot about it until now.
It does sound fun.

Well, the only real reason I'm going right away, instead of taking mega-doses of vitamins and herbs is so I can get right back to work. I've been out 2 days already, and that's just not cool.

Hi Wil:
Speaking of geocaching, it's really REALLY popular up here in the Pacific Northwest amidst some of the most damned gorgeous wonders of the natural world (if you ask me *grin*), but hey, who's listening anyways, I'm biased, I confess.
Anywho, your thought for today perked my interest and naturally I like the previous poster thought of "karma" and the role it plays in our lives. The simplest rule of science I ever learned as a kid was succinctly: for every action, there is a reaction. Having said that, I can't help but think that "karma" is the interconnectedness of us all.
We may be either too close in time or too near in space to observe with any accuracy the lawfulness of the order of the universe. We are never, however, beyond its reach.
Hope you get to feeling well, I battled the flu about three/four weeks ago and would you believe it, I'm still not feeling "perky" yet?
Peace, out.

I would recommend the etrek Vista.. It has 24meg downloadable memory for maps, routes, waypoints. And its about size of cell-phone. Very small, great screen, waterproof durable. (gosh, I sound like an advertisement). honestly though I am simple a very happy customer.. I have 3 caches under my belt. My wife and I are planning our own cache and bugs. It quite fun!

Hey all. I just checked out the geocaching website. It looks like much fun! Turns out there is a cache hidden in a park near my house. I was just hiking (AKA lost) there a couple of weeks ago with my son and step-son! Looks like I need to invest in a GPS!
Posted by: Jessie | May 2, 2002 05:24 PM
Geocaching is really good time, and an excellent family activity. My girlfriend and I have been looking for caches for over a year now. It's total hoot. Heh, I just said hoot.

only took two sinutabs, two doses of triaminic and 1 cough drop....and I haven't missed a day of work.
Suck it up Wil!!

Man, everybody at G4 is sick. You're the third person I know of to fall ill in the past week.
I hope ya feel better man. Take care of yourself. There are people on the G4 forums that want you to start some Tribes 2 competitions. :>

I wanted to take a moment to point out that wil as a host is much less expensive that Bill Clinton. Wil: $500, Bill: $50,000,000.00
I would say that Wil is definitely a better value especially since he has his funny back & his funny neck

Hey, Wil is still sick. Hmmm, sounds like of a case of full blown AIDS! (Avoiding Intervention from a Doctor Syndrome). When you get sick, call for an appointment immediately. All you do is make it worse and make your poor family and friends worry. Get well soon! - God Bless!

Wil, sorry to hear about your illness.
it's times like this that I wish we had someone
like Dr. Crusher wave the little cure stick
and make us well... and like most of Gene's
visions, man will get that device invented...
someday, someday soon. man will go were no man has
gone before.
take care

Wow- I actaully heard about geocaching in an Iowa newspaper before reading it on Wil's site. It does look like fun.
Get better, Wil.

Great, just great. Like I don't have enough things to do with what little time I have already. And like I don't have enough things to spend my dwindling supply of money on. Now you show me geocaching ... which looks like a lot of fun. My family and I already Volksmarch (www.ava.com) just about every weekend, this looks like a more interesting version of Volksmarching to some degree. I suppose I'll have to find a GPS and give it a go. *sigh*

Wil - GET BETTER!
And what is it with men and being SO reluctant to see the doctor? I admit I'm not a great fan of going to the doctor myself (yeah, suffered for THREE days with horrible fever and cough before I caved in, went to see my GP and found out I had pneumonia...)
Anyway, get better uncle Willie - lots of HOT tea with freshly squeezed lemon juice and organic (preferably Australian) honey.
It's Friday!!!

Hope you're feeling better. I have found that Thera-Flu is a wonder drug in terms of killing sore throat and stuffy head symptoms.
But, geez, imagine what could happen if you tried every drug that everyone's suggested. Could be ugly...

DOOT do dodo-do DOO DOOT DOO-do DO...
Why Wil-
if you say you screw the cap back on the toothpaste, don't wipe your nose on the couch,
remember to take the trash out without having to be told, stop for directions when you're lost, and try to keep the trumpet-gas at sneak attack, at least when you're in public with your fav. femme...
why, why... I think i'd love you. ;)
or better yet:

Why not try relaxing with the original 1986 version of Tetris (which www.kottke.org linked to a few days ago). It has brought back many memories of the dread '80s in the past few days, and has been distracting me from more useful stuff I ought to have been doing.

Hey Wil,
I had sinus SURGERY actually...sinuses can be a real pain in the butt. I am really impressed with how you handle sickness. Too many of my friends bitch and moan at the slightest cough, and you even went out to the premiere party for your show when you were sick.
Sure you didn't catch "something" in Vegas? :)

We've (my husband and I) thought about doing geocaching since we're really into using GPS for APRS and we like to travel a lot. We actually use our HAM radio licenses to do APRS with GPS to run trackers in our cars. Running trackers can be a disadvantage though... I caught my husband going out and having sushi without me!! *laugh*
Hope you get well, enjoy the new hobby if you decide to get into it.

Had never heard of Geocaching before you mentioned it, Wil. Sounded so cool, I jacked a GPS from my Dad's house and went out, found 6 out of 7 that I chose to seek in the Sacramento/Roseville area. Thanks for the new past-time, Wil!

Spiderman,
The comming of age. He deals with sticky fingers and palms. He's not a sinner or a saint. He's a force for good more advanced than the public eye can see. He has really soulful eyes and a situation that could get the one he would loose his virginity to snuffed out if she even has a peek at his dick.
That Kirsten Dunst has legs for days(I really think she has a no BS sexyness). I guess spidey has a few years of self manipulation before he's ready for the big P. I mean the big C as in commitment. The movie was mostly attended by teens and it's focus was on target but I enjoyed it well enough.
And that Kirsten Dunst ~ she real girl!
