More Thoughts From The Wife

Hey! Check it out! The wife is actually using the computer! I'm pretty proud of myself. I even did a little on-line Christmas shopping. Guess who has on her big girl pants now!

I wanted to say a little something regarding our shitty (can I say that on here?) New Year's Eve. See, I hadn't heard any horror stories about the dog. Just that he was nervous around people. And that the dog didn't like Darin (which is so odd, since Darin is the nicest, most non-threatening guy I know). Me being the animal lover, I just didn't see that this dog was vicious. Just scared. I took my time hanging around the dog, and he eventually was rolling and rubbing his face on me. He seemed very happy. All the commotion in the house just scared him and I was the first thing he saw.

The first two days, I felt a little nervous when Ferris would lay on her back and roll over toward me, showing her big happy face and a mouth full of teeth. But this doesn't change how I feel about animals. I even took my son to a shelter on Saturday and we hung out with the pooches. Stitches and all. And yes, all my other stitches (50 total in the face now....8 from jumping off my brother's bed and hitting the mattress frame between my eyebrows) were from the dog we had when I was little. So the scared feeling I had when I was a kid definitely came back. I can't imagine how Wil must have felt when I looked over at him with a mouthful of blood. He kept himself together though.

After my swelling went down a bit (I must say, I was kind of enjoying my Kim Basinger-like full pouting lips) I read the comments that were posted after Wil wrote about this. I am so touched by all of the 'mojo' and kind words everyone has sent. I was amazed to read all of the stories of dog bite incidences, as well as several stories of shitty (did we find out if I can say that yet?) New Year's had by others. At least it was the end of a year, so we can all have a fresh new start!

The bite was a nice straight slice so I think it will heal fine with little scarring. My stitches are a lovely shade of blue which I've kind of gotten used to now. I won't miss them when they're gone though. And hopefully this will be the last time a dog uses my face for a chomping pad.Wil was right, it could have been so much worse.

Thank you so much for your concern. You are all awesome! No wonder Wil likes doing this website.

Take care and have a healthy, happy, injury-free year!

Anne (the wife)

Heya Anne!

I just want to say, sorry to hear about the doggie-nip. That had to be hell. It's good to see you have such a positive outlook. =)

Hope it heals without scarring... if not, tell everyone you got the scar bungee jumping over a field of jagged glass, and dare them to top it. =D

{{{{{{{{{No scarring Mojo!}}}}}}}}}}

It's great to hear you're still such an animal lover! Incidents like that could scar a person for a long time.
Stitches suck! I have them in my mouth right now (wisdom teeth were removed). They're annoying little SOB's!

YAY! Glad to see Anne's feeling better and still loving the doggie woggies!!

*looks around at the other stuff on the site* Um, yeah, I think the word "shitty" is OK here. :)

glad to hear you're doing fine

Hi Anne,
I've been bit by a few dogs in my day, but we're the same ~ there's nothing any one dog can do that will change my feelings for them. Not even when they rip up the case for your Pearl Jam DVD, or leave multi-coloured bruises and huge scratches on your arm.
Here's to a spiffy recovery!

Hey Anne!

I'm glad to hear that you aren't letting what happened on New Year's Eve hamper your love for animals. It's no wonder with your positive outlook (even when things like that happen) that Wil loves you. I wish you fast healing and I hope that you don't have any more experiences like that one you've had.

So glad you are healing well- that more than sucks! You are a remarkable person for your continued love and understanding for the critters. (saaaaa-lute!)

I think you can say shitty.
Shitty.
Yup.

Thanks for posting, Anne! Been sending good thoughts your way for the past week...

The only stitches I've ever had on my face were years ago, the need being from my wonderful cat... long story short, I startled her after a very loud fire alarm had been going off, and she jumped away from me, and her back paw caught my chin all the way to my lower lip. If people look very carefully, they can probably see the scar, but it's barely noticeable.

I'm so glad to read that you're doing OK. Take care of yourself, and you'll be done with the blue thread fashion statement before you know it!

Anne, glad to hear you're on the mend. :)

Hey Anne! Glad you're ok. When I was a toddler, I was bitten on the lip by a dog. It's made me a little scared of dogs ever since, mostly just big ones. I'm glad this incident hasn't had that effect on you. Hope you and your family have a great new year!

Oh my God, it's Anne! You are so awesome... through Wil(the husband)'s gushing, I am almost in love with you. And now you are here, gracing us with your presence. Wow, how cool! Next thing you know, you'll have your own website.

The thought has crossed my mind how lucky Anne is... but he is pretty lucky too, it seems. Much mojo on the healing.

Don't worry too much about a little scar, I have a feeling you're a hottie.... (something about a clown sweater picture I saw somewhere).

Hey, Anne --

Glad you're well... just wondering if it ever bothers you that Wil makes so many comments about other women here... I mean, I'm sure he's faithful and all, but jeez. He's a pretty handsome guy (I sat next to him in the SF airport once -- didn't say hello, but should have -- so I know he could bag the babes if he wanted to), and you never know if another woman might make a hard and fast play for him. So what I'm saying, really, is this: scar on your lip or no scar, stitches or no stitches, make sure that Wil flirts with YOU more than anyone else! You probably deserve it!

Hoping you'll take this in the good-natured ribbing sort of way :)

"I can't imagine how Wil must have felt when I looked over at him with a mouthful of blood. He kept himself together though."

Well of course he did! His mother was a Starship Doctor, after all!

:)

Hey wait a minute, this is Wil's site! Someone's poaching, I think!

Just kidding - I'm glad you let us know about how you are doing. I was about to email Wil and suggest an update when I saw your note. I hope you have a speedy, complete recovery (make sure you get your protein, and plenty of rest, to help mend those tissues), and that the nervousness around dogs subsides completely. Good luck.

Everyone who can drink must drink, per the rules of the WWDN drinking game, since Anne posted (duh!)

Anyways Happy Hangovers

I think

this

worth

a posting

from Spudnuts.

Dude seriously. You know how guys LOVE having scars? I think getting this baby only brings out the sweet lovin' from Uncle Willy! No need to fear the ladies going after my man, 'cuz nothin' says 'tough babe' like scars! Woo hoo!

Hi Anne!

Glad to hear you're on the mend. (Hey Alexis, I also got my wisdom teeth taken out this weekend!) Stitches sux! I can't open my mouth more than an inch. Make Wil bring you some ice cream. :)

Hey Anne,
I hear you're from Oregon...what parts?

- Oregonian

Anne:

I'm glad you are doing better-the fact that you were "iced" pretty quick should keep your scar to a minimum!

I think it's great that you poached on Wil's site-all's fair in love and whatever!

I hope the bad memories of what happened fade like the Jets when they meet up with the Raiders!

Happy rest of 2003 to you and the kids and the Wil-meister!

Anne,

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us. Your love for all things furry strikes a chord with this kindred spirit.

-Jocleyn

I'm very glad to hear that you're all right, Anne -- been worried about you ever since I read the New Year's post.

Kai

Hi Anne! I'm really happy you're feeling better, you seem in such a good mood! I'm sure you're a very positive and nice person... no wonder Wil loves you... Hey, I was wondering, could you post a few pictures of your face with these stitches? I want to see them ;) Thanks, see you later!

Hey Anne,

glad to hear you are feeling better and healing up. You are one amazing chickee!

Bless,

Patty :)

Hey Anne! Glad to hear you're doing okay again, that's excellent news!

Oh, and if Wil can say the "fuck" word on this site, you can definitely say "shit" and all it's derivatives. :-D

Hey Anne

Yep, scars = tough babe

My pup bit my lip when she was 6 weeeks old. She is now 12 years old and still going strong.
My scar has vanished but it left me with a weird numb spot on the lip which I cannot help biting on when I'm nervous.

Happy healing.

And I'll say it again..
There is nothing as attractive as a loving husband.

I'll keep mine....

Hello Anne!

It's great to hear from you and I'm glad to see that you are recovering from the "ruff" doggie
episode... ( I would have sent flowers, but I don't know where I would send them to...)

and since you are hear.. the last episode I saw
with the young "Wesley" Wil Wheaton
was the one where it is brought to everyone
attention that "Wesley" had a "birth mark"

was that just part of the story line or can you
confirn / deny the "real life true story"

just kidding....

later :)

That post means something momentous.
Or some other word I can't spell.
When he 'whose name should not be spoken' talked about the bite, it was rough reading.
Almost like a memeber of the family was hurt.
No, a member of the family was hurt.
Glad you're okay.

Anne:

Never underestimate the power that the combination of ELO and the Forbidden Mega-Mojo Dance.

Glad to see that you are doing better.

Anne,
I'm so happy that you are doing better. I give alot of kudos to you. Many people would have a soured view towards dogs after such an attack. You truely a special person.

I might have Wil take a pic of my scar on Friday to show you. LOL Yes I'm one of those girls that is proud of her battle scars. Not to mension the Bionic woman and I have the same scar. lol

Well anyway I'm really happy that you are feeling so much better. :)

Sifichick

Check it out! We get to meet Anne. Cool!

So, when are you getting your own website? Glad you're feeling better.

Like everyone here, I am glad to hear that you are on the mend, with a good prognosis. I am also delighted that you took the time to tell us about it yourself. Its true that many of us have great affection for Wil, through his writing and as an extension of that, for you and the boys. I was horrified to hear about the injury, but had no doubt whatsoever that you would mend fast and that you would be back to your animal loving, nurturing ways in no time. We don't really know you, but sometimes we feel like we do, and we care about your welfare. I myself always get a warm fuzzy when I see or hear about a couple or family with strong love, like yours, and I feel like there's one more beautiful thing in the world to cherish.

I know I'm rambling now, blame it on the Nyquil.

Nutshell: Glad you are well, love ya, mean it!

Nice to finally hear from (the wife) herself!
The strongest impression I have gotten from reading this website everyday, is how lucky Wil is to have a woman like you. and Conversely: how lucky you are to have a man who loves you so deeply.
All my favorite articles by Wil are about you and the boys and the joys he derives from those relationships.
I wish you a speedy recovery, and you are right not to worry about scarring, I get the impression that you could come in from a shitstorm wearing burlap and Wil would still greet you with a hug and a kiss....

Mojo works great, doesn't it?
Glad you're feeling better. Having been bitten by a dog and a horse, as well as having my toes smashed from the same damn horse, I know it can be a bit scary just being the same animal lover. Good for you! Lucky Ferris. And lucky Wil. :)

Continued mojo for good healing coming your way...

Thank you for check-in, Beautiful Anne.

I'm so glad that your wonderful loving spirit is unchanged. Not that I ever thought it would be.

Please poke HM for the Big Girl Pants comment. ;-)

A positive outlook is a primary factor in any recovery. It is good to see that you are not letting this mishap quench your loving spirit. It is easy to see why Wil loves you so much.

Blessings and Happiness!!!

Brock

Glad you're doing better.

Had our first experience with a dog bite three days ago. My 16 year old was babysitting and got chomped in the arm. It left a nasty bruise and bite mark and smarted, and the owners were horrified (they're friends) but we're not the suing type. Accidents happen.

And my daughter was very well paid for that night of sitting, lol.

Anne,
Always a pleasure when you grace the monkey pen with your dazzling presence! *grin*
Glad to hear that you are on the mend. As you say no one is going to muck with you now Tough Girl!

Hi from PDX, Anne. Glad to hear you are getting better. It was a real shock hearing Wil tell the horrors of your New Years, so we're all glad you're mending.

My wife is a long-time dog trainer and behaviorist and always sees this kind of stuff before it happens, but I just love the dogs blindly and end up looking at a mouth full of bare teeth!

Best wishes to you, Wil and the kids in 2003.
Rob

What? No pic?!

Anne - So glad that you have a positive outlook on the New Year & thanks for sharing! :)

Glad to hear you're recovering well.
Now you know what monkey mojo can do. :)

Hark! Lady Wheaton speaks! ;)

Wil! You lucky monkey you! Does Anne have a sister?

No, just kidding. :)

Seriously, Anne I am happy to see that you are keeping a positve outlook and that you aren't in agonizing pain anymore. Personally, I'm a wimp when it comes to pain and the mere thought of that which you must have endured makes me cringe! Without a doubt, I would not have been able to deal with it as well as you have!

Dear Anne (and Wil),

Thanks for the update on you! My hubby and I hope you're both healing well from the incident.

Take care!

Tamm and Craig,
Southeast Pennsylvania

Yup yup... Wil should be the only one chompin on your face. :)

Glad you're gettin better.

Clay

You fill up my senses, like a night in the forest...

Yes, you can say "sh!tty" here. :)

Healing mojo a-plenty!

Great to know that you are doing better!!! Are you able to kiss Wil?? Your a cool chicky; I wish that there were more animal lovers like you around eh. My hubby and I like to believe that we're just as good understanders of animals too.
Take care of yourself and family!

Anne: so glad to hear you're ok. My little bitches (can we say that here?) send sloppy doggie kisses. ;)
Cara (and Gwen and Luna)

see I knew you'd have some fun with the collagen implant looking lips. It sounds like you haven't had much pain - that's good to hear.

Glad to hear all is well with the lip!
When I meet a new dog I go by what the dog is telling me, I don't know what it is, telepaty, slight body language, but I seem to be able to tell, most of the time, when a dog is aproachable or not. If it's not I just wave and say hi before moving on. Just like some people, some dogs are just jerks and can't be reasoned with. (I'm sure this dog isn't one of those however).
Just like to say that you are both so lucky to have each other, I only hope I can have something like that. :)

I am so glad to hear that you are progressing well. Thank you for updating us.... we were worried about ya.... much love.

I'm glad to hear you [The Wife] are doing fine & that you [The Wife] are in good spirits. Hope this new year is far pleasanter than the closing of 2002 was.

Anne--

that's so great that you're getting better! good luck with a speedy recovery!

Anne? Really?

Very Cool. Or is that Hella Cool? Much Cool? Way Cool? What phrase does one use in California?

Hope the stitches don't itch too much. That whole episode reminded me of pre-Christmas at our house. My wife and 3 year old were fooling around and the I hear a meaty thump. Next thing I know my 3 year old daughter is screaming. (after the few seconds of startled-gasping-gulping-air-I-am-next-to-death preamble)I run to find her (my 3 year old daughter to clarify) gushing blood from her mouth. Scared the living shit (shit is okay around here) out of me. Once I calmned down I found out it was only a small cut on the inside of her mouth which required no stitches. So I can relate to Wil on that panic concern thing. Heart rate and blood pressure sore when you see a loved one sprewing blood.

I am glad you are so devoted to animals and their wellbeing. So keep a stiff upper lip (probably not to hard to do right now) and keep good care of your number one animal - Wil.

Glad to hear/see that you are doing much better..

And YES as many other Monkeys have posted MOJO
from Wil's Monkeys does RULE!!!!

NO SCARRING MOJO continued!!!!!

Anne, it's really cool to hear from you for once. We hear ABOUT you all the time but never anything from the horses mouth herself (dont take that the wrong way)hehe. It sounds like you and Wil are as in love with eachother as my husband and myself and it is the most wonderful feeling. Good healing mojo from one more monkey anne!! Brook

Anne - Glad to hear that you're doing better.

I think everyone has a story like that, with an animal attack. I had something similar happen with my cat when I first got it - i was 6 and hugged it. I had a few 'nice' little cuts down from my right forehead to the left part of my jaw (thankfully it didn't get the eye). Needless to say I didn't wanna be around the cat for a day or two and the cat was happy to oblige ;). I got over it and we kept the cat for the remaining 14 years of its life.

Hello Mrs. HMIC,

I'm so very glad that you're doing better, and that your did not lose your love and compassion for the fuzzy people. I hope you have continued Monkey MoJo No Scar Healing. YAY!! Please come round more often. This was a lovely surprise to hear from you. ;-)

Heya, Anne! So good to see you wresting control of the keyboard from the resident geekboy -- whom, as you know, we all love to death. ^___^

I freaked when I read Wil's post about how you spent the New Year's Eve. As many have said, that was totally sucky. But it's good to know that you're all right, recovering nicely, and with your love of animals still intact.

Do take care, and give the family an extra-large huggle from all of us. And post when you have the time -- it's always a pleasure to hear from you!

Thanks for updating us. I'm so glad to hear you're mending!

that wil is one lucky guy...
anne sounds like one heck of a great girl...
a sense of humour, AND a tough as nails, 'what this little scratch?' attitude..
tres cool anne!

cheers
tyson

Hi Anne,

I'm glad to read you're doing OK. I hope Wil will too - it's terrible that you can't protect loved ones from accidents after they've happened.

Except when you're Superman and you can travel back in time.

Hey Anne! Glad to hear you're doing ok and that you're taking things in stride.

I had a cat that was as crazy as that dog that bit you (I loved Tash, but she was definitely crazy). From my experience with Tash, I'd say the dog is capable of doing this again, so please be careful when you're around it.

Hi anne,
Glad to hear you're doing well and that you don't hate dogs:) Keep your spirits up and give Ferris a hug!
-Jamie

Yay Anne!

Did you tiptoe down to the kitchen after Wil dozed off reading Watchmen, have some cookies and milk, and think "gee I bet it's not so hard as Wil tells me it is to make a blog entry?"

Somehow I just think this is a little surreptitious.

Glad your lip does feel better.

Drake.

Anne, welcome! So great to see you on. NYE episode sucks, though. Nothing more. :)

Hey Anne!
Why dont you write here every now and then.
We will not tell Wil. :c)
Anyway... Keep as cool as you are.

O.K., I've to share my dog bite story since everyone who hears it gets a good chuckle at my expense.
I was 8 or 9 & a nieghbor was watching a friends cocker spaniel. For some reason they kept it at the playhouse. A group of us girls played at the playhouse & wanted to leave. The dog was running & jumping all over & we couldn't get out. We did get out one by one, each taking a turn distracting the dog & one would run for it. I was the last one to go & no one distracted the dog so it chased after me & bit me on the butt!!! I kid you not, my right cheek !!
I ran home (2 houses away) screaming that I've rabies!!!! My mom took me to the E.R. & there I got 10 stitches.
To this day I don't care for those dogs & I still carry scars from the bite. Better yet, 2 weeks later my twin brother was bit by a Dalmation on his butt too (the left cheek). Strange thing is he doesn't have a scar.
So there's my story & that's the truth!!!!

Have a good one!

Hi Anne,
Thanks for letting us know that's you're OK - I have been wondering about you since it happened.
Take care.

I would have executed the dog on the spot.

YAY!
It's an ANNE POST!!
I'm glad you are healing well and didn't get too spooked by getting bit.
I have been bitten by rats, cats, snakes, horses, lizards, and birds, but no dogs...well, not like they actually meant it.
Chinese New Year is coming up, so you STILL have a shot at having a happy new year.
Oh...and also being a critter lover (obviously) I saved a dog on Sunday...about seven hours before the Santa Ana winds threw the roof of my apartment building all over the block.
(Thankfully, no one was hurt.)
I hope you have a speedy recovery and post more often.
~Divana

Dear Anne (aka "The Wife" - sounds like a horror flick!)
With such a remarkable attitude and sense of forgiveness toward the poor frightened pooch, I'm certain you'll heal up just fine!
All that compassionate mojo you're expressing has to do some good!
It's wonderful to hear you're doing well.
And, if there is a scar... well, always remember - they're very sexy!

Greetings from Louisiana's cajun country!
Hi, Wil's wife! Glad to see you and glad you are doing better. As someone who has been around dogs and had dogs all my life, I'm more convinced that they are just people with really pretty coats. Just like people you've known for years can snap for no reason, so can dogs. BTW, our latest rescue was a big (around 100 lbs) white german shepherd/lab mix that was wandering right by the freeway. He's as sweet and friendly as can be. Why somebody would dump him is beyond me.

Take care, and hope to see you soon. Oh, hi, Wil!

Barry Ingram

I hate cats.

I was attacked by cats twice. I think cats hate me. I know that I hate cats.

-zinderfine

Glad to hear you are feeling better and on the mend, Anne. We hear so much about you but rarely get the pleasure of hearing from you yourself. Looks like there are at least two talented writers in your family :) Come around more often. It's a treat to hear from you.

At the risk of sounding like a 40's film noir private eye, I gotta say that Anne strikes me as the type of woman deserving of the phrase, "The dame's got moxie!"

Shemp Mo-Din

:::fingers crossed::: that the scar fades to nothingness pretty quick (looks at own knee, still scarred for 25 years...) It's amazing how much better they are about stitches thse days. Why, back when I was a kid... ;)

Hi Anne

I know all to well the canine behavior you described. It's very common with abuse rescues -- sweet dog, but it's reaction to being startled or frightened is to bite. My greyhound and I were playing at an off-leash park here in Seattle last summer. She ran a little too close to a Border Collie, and the Border Collie bit her. My dog had to have surgery and looked like hell for a couple of weeks. The owners couldn't believe their dog had done this, but then it came out that this dog was an abuse rescue.

I have great admiration that you have not let this incident dampen your love of animals. It's obvious that this isn't a malicious dog. And maybe Darin just reminds the dog in some way of someone in his past that abused him.

I hope the healing continues for you, both physically and emotionally.

Hey Shemp - I'm thinking the rabbinical equivalent of that would be, "Da goil's got khutzpa!"

Anne, I was going to say something along the lines of using George Carlin's 7 forbidden words as a guideline of what you should or should not say or type on a public medium, but never you mind - "shit" is one of the forbidden words. If you break one rule, why not break them all? I guess when in doubt, just ask Drew Curtis.

FARK EWE! (oh gross...)

I am glad everything is fine; please take care. Oh and Wheaton, make sure you do some extra work around the house, Anne needs a break. She is of course the queen of the household.

Anne,
i dont think anyone will mind what you say on wil's website. Just try not to get a scar on that pretty face and be more careful arround strange dogs.
{{{{{stitches go away without scars mojo}}}}}

Hi Anne!
I'm glad you're on the mend, and refusing to let this get in the way of your love for animals! Salud! No scarring mojo on the way!!

Wil and Anne

I am so glad to hear that your accidents have not scared you away from the animals. I am a huge animal lover and grew up with my mom bringing home just about every stray animal she could find. I hope the new year is a happy one for you guys and all the other WWDN fanatics.

Anne! How cool that you posted! And you are obviously a skilled writer, like your hubby. So glad to hear you're feeling better! I love animals as much as you do, especially dogs, and I could totally relate to your emotional shock after the bite. But, we both know animals are not evil and the dog will probably become a good companion animal over time.

And to Blech, I hope no one EVER allows you to own an animal.

Tracey

It's great to hear that you are on your way to a speedy recovery and that this didn't affect your love for animals...

While we're talking about scars...

One on my upper lip from tripping over my own feet and splitting said lip on the edge of a large wooden box when I was in kindergarten.

One in the center of my forhead about an inch above the eyebrows (Where I've imagined Harry Potter's scar to be located) in the shape of a fingernail (suspicious...) though I think I got it in the same way as the previous scar, by either running into or falling onto something unpleasant.

"Y"-shaped scar at the origin of my life-line on my right hand. Appropriate since my early years were dedicated mostly towards injuring myself.

General scarring on my right knee from when in the first month of 3rd grade I skidded my bike on some gravel at the bottom of the hill and upon falling on to said gravel turned my knee into hamburger. Yummy.

Emotional scarring from years of dating women not nearly as cool as Anne. Wil, you're one lucky devil.

Hi Anne,

Thanks for the post. I was worried about how you were doing. And, by the looks of it, I wasn't alone! I will deifinitely continue to send you some healing mojo. Try not to get dizzy from all the healing energy coming your way. :)

Get better soon!

Anne,
I'm glad you are doing better...It was nice to hear from you again. Have a happy new year. -Roger

Anne,

It is great to hear about how you are doing from you! You should drop in and visit more often.
I am so glad that you are healing up and getting some little perks as well!
It is good to know that you have not let this incident change your love of animals. :)
You are an amazing person!

*hugs and more healing mojo*
Neph

Come to Butthead....uhhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh

Anne. RULES.

That is all.

:-)

Anne, it's great to hear you're feeling better! I sent the mojo internally after reading about the incident - sounds like my little piece may have helped. I have to admit though that after a couple of exchanges with Wil yesterday I felt like a heel for not sending more with him electronically. Seeing your post about it today must be a sign, so I'll simply send more... now. *mojo*

Anne,

Good to hear from you! Thanks for the update and glad that you're healing up good.

take care,

SpaceWriter

Dancing ELO anti-scarring mojo is good, but BE SURE to ingest, and apply, healthy amounts of Vitamin-E. It is the ultra anti-scarring agent.

At least until they invent dermal regenerators. Dr. Crusher, to the bridge?

"Shitty-shitty Bang-Bang, We Love You" - sure you can say that word, they even made it into a song! :) Great to hear a posting from you that all is well.

Yea! Another animal lover! w00t! Glad to hear that you're okay. Wil's New Year's post scared the living shit outta me, I can't imagine how you guys were. But, I'm glad to hear you're fine. Hear's wishing you an awesome animal friendly and friendly animal year.

By the way, put on your "big girl pants" more often and chat with us. We love hearing from ya.

Hi again Anne :)
All the monkeys are sure glad to hear you're doing better! We've missed YOUR thoughts! :) Yeah, yeah, it's Wil's blog, I know, but just look at the numbers of responses from the posse to today's posts:

Wil's: 17 responses.

Yours (the wife's): 100 and counting :)))

So there!

Oooooh, The Wife descends....

Really glad you are healing well coz you're perdy.

And it was nice of you to post and thank everyone.

*goes red*

erm...erm...

Blue stitches? Blue Hair? Theme appearing me thinks.

Anyway, more good vibes to you and your family.

Glad you're healing well, Anne. That was scary to read; I can only imagine how you guys must have felt.

Your positivity and caring are amazing. I must concur with the majority--Wil is one lucky man!

Anne - so great to know that you're doing well!! I hope that your wound heals up perfectly! As a master of facial stitches, myself, I know how desirable it is to have them heal up seamlessly :o)

Have a wonderful New Year!

I'm so glad to hear you're okay Anne! From what Wil has said about you on this site you seem like a wonderful person. I'm an animal lover also and I like to think if I was bitten by a dog I'd still be one, too. I think I would be. I mean, my dad used to be a mailman and has been bitten 8 times and he still loves animals.
Anyway, I'm totally babbling now so I'll stop. Lots of hugs for you and your family and I hope you all have a great 2003! :-)

Anne,
As with hundreds of other folks who venture here to Wil's site almost on a daily basis, I also want to add how glad I was to hear you're on the mend. Thanks for posting us an update yourself! Wil is indeed a lucky guy... : )
All the best for the coming year and tell the boys we all think fondly of them as well.

Take care,

Hola, Anne!

Good to know you're doing well. Nice to see you posting, too!

~send her much mojo...not just for the bite, but for everything~

Karen

Hey Anne, good to see you are feeling better. I'm glad this hasen't put you off the pooches. Have a great New Year!

Great to hear you're doing so well Anne!! I've been there myself, and it's never pleasant. But Wil was definately correct...it could have been so much worse.

Take care and have a great year!!

You may start something with the blue stitches. A fashion statement that everyone will want. It couldn't be worse than a big ole nose ring or a piercing through the nose or bottom lip.

OK back to reality, glad to hear you are doing so much better.

Gosh Wil,

You've done well. She's taken your name, and doesn't mind being referred to as "the Wife"!

Chris

glad to hear that your recouperating well and that your spirits are up.
yay.

So happy to hear that you are feeling OK! We had a good New Years Eve, of course I was the DD- so I spent the 1st 2 hours of 2003 driving drunk loud people home! I just wanted to tell you that I love to read your hubby's website- it regularly cracks me up! I am sending good thoughts for a dog-bite free 2003!

Awesome.

This is why cats are better than dogs.
You don't go to the hospital because of a kitty.

I read Wil's blog entry and was brought back to new year's eve when I was in 6th grade. The friendliest dog in the world took a bite out of my face that required 38 stitches. There's something about new years' eve and dogs that doesn't mix - too much excitement, new people and staying up late makes for a stressed out dog.

It taught me that dogs aren't hairy humans - they don't think the same way we do and have different instincts. I try to respect their space now and not crowd them.

BTW, try putting vitamin E oil on your scars once they close. It helps the healing process and minimizes scarring. My scar looked halloween frightening at first and became barely noticeable.

Just a quick note to answer a couple of questions. For the Oregon question, I lived in West Linn near Lake Oswego next to the Willamette River and YES! My neighbor was Bill Walton when he played for the Portland Trailblazers and still had red hair.

The only picture that was taken of my lip was by my son three days after the fact and he was way too close so all you see is black(bruises), blue(stitches), and blur. Sorry. I thought it would be cool to put up also. When Wil had all that nasty poison oak, I took a picture of it because I wanted him to put it on his website. You know, to have a visual to go with the story. I thought it looked like corned beef, so he thought it was too gross to show. Wuss.

And for the e-mail of the charging bison, all I gotta say is 'holy shit!' See, I can say that 'cuz you said it was ok.

See ya!
Anne

Yearrrg I remember the blue stitches of doom. I had them on my chin in grade 4 when some stupid little snott knocked me down onto some ice and I split my chin open. I looked like I had a little blue goatee.

Glad to hear you're in pretty good shape, and I hope it heals up well! It was so eerie to read about your incident, a teen in my area got attacked by a couple of large dogs right before Christmas. I'm starting to get paranoid that the animals are planning a rebellion...

Anne! Great to see you back and on the computer nonetheless! It's a great to hear that you are in good spirits after a shitty (yes, you can say shitty....Wil has said the other four letter word and probably all of its other incarnations several times on this site...I hope I haven't gotten him in trouble by tattling ::::sinister grin::::) New Year's Eve and that this incident hasn't significantly effected your love for animals. Here's some healing mojo going your way for a speedy recovery.

As for my New Year's Eve 2003, I spent it speeding through the small residential roads of NJ and praying that I wouldn't die just minutes into the new year. Hope others had a safer and enjoyable eve.

Not so, Jordan. A few years ago, I spent several hours in the ER because of a deep cat bite. Had to get a shot of antibiotics too, it was awful!
Anne, good to hear from you.. you need to do a 'guest appearance' more often! More healing mojo to ya, hope you heal up quickly.

BJB

Hey! It's nice to hear from the other side of the Wheaton bed once in a while!

Glad to hear you've got a good outlook on all this and i'm sending out good vibes for you!

Tell Wil he should give you a page to post on...so you can complain about him leaving his sock on the floor. :-)

Anne,
I understand the whole: things happening that bring up early memories. I have personal experience with that, although not with dogs. So, I wish you and Wil a great 2003!

Yay, Anne! I'm so glad you're better and that Wil's been taking good care of you. Good Luck mojo to both of you for a better year!
I grew up around animals (ahh, farmlife) and got bit often by quite a few, so I'm glad you are still an animal lover-like me! I have a crescent-shaped scar on my arm from a great dane from years ago. Yes nothing says billy bad ass than a chick with scars. I tell people I got it from the last time someone tried to mess with my man! ~laughs~ he gets the biggest kick out of it.
Take care and use mederma!

Hey Anne

I'm glad everything is going well. And its about time Wil let you log on and write an entry on this site. You should do it more often.

Hi Anne!

Hope you feel better soon!

Anne, here's a link to a page devoted to that dogbite victim in BC I referred to, Shenica White. You'd probably be a great person to lend moral support.

Hey! I wasen't sure if we were going to hear from you again Anne. Wow, you've had alot of stitches in your life. Shopping on the internet.
Your doing better than me, I haven't even gotten that far.

SO much has already been said (of course, that's always the case by the time I post)
