all i want is you
When I was younger, I saw this movie. I think it was "Singles," but I could be mistaken. In that movie, these people are trying so hard to find each other and fall in love, and someone says, "You're the first thing I think of in the morning, and the last thing I think of before I go to sleep."
Anne and I had been dating for about three weeks when she became that person to me.
Eight years later, she's still the first person I think of in the morning, and the last person I think of before I fall asleep at night. I can't imagine my life without her.
Anne, the only thing better than falling in love with you is being in love with you.
Happy Anniversary, Mrs. Wheaton. I love you to the moon and back 59 times.

The blog is timestamped 1:08am Nov 7, but the comments before mine are 10pm-ish Nov 6. I'm not sure if your anniversary is Nov 6 or 7. In any case, all the best to you both, Anne and Wil. I love how Wil gets all mushy when he talks his love for Anne. Isn't that what we all want, someone to get all mushy over us? (sigh!)

Ain't love grand? Especially love that kicks ass even after you've reached the point where you both can list every subtle variation of embarrassing little things the other does when they're sleeping and unaware. ;-) Happy Anniversary, Wil and Anne!

Wil,
I love how in love with your wife you are. Every little girl dreams of growing up to find exactly that man. Mrs. Wheaton, how does it feel to be married to every girls' dream?
Lots of love and good feelings to you both and to your boys. You are teaching them right by not being afraid to love out loud!

Happy Anniversary.
But you need to rethink that "to the moon and back 49 times" bit. At 1/4 impulse that really isn't very long. [obligatory Trek reference]
Sorry - couldn't resist. Ya can't keep handing out straight lines, dude.

You're still the one I want for life

I'm glad that you, and those posters that are in this same type of loving communion, can share in the happiness that I experience in my own life. Oooh, its a Friday too! Good job Will, I think you have done more to ensure a wonderful weekend for your readers than you can even imagine!

Anne and Will, Happy Anniversary from me too. I remember there is an old entry from you Wil where you describe a wonderful day with Ann (don't ask me about the title: you were both standing in the rain at the end). It was just so great- and I had tears in my eyes because I exactly know how you both feel. It's great to be in love, to have finally found that very special someone that makes your heart jump and makes your life worth living. Hold on to each other- don't let anything seperate you, ever!
Wil, thanks for running your weblog. I come here daily- and you are really having a special way of telling things... it's just great!
Enjoy your anniversary- and I hope you guys will have many anniversarys to come! :)

Now the important part: I think the quote was from When Harry Met Sally. At the end, when Billy Crystal professes his love to Meg Ryan at the New Year's Eve party. Of course, I may be wrong.

And that line is most definitely from the end of "When Harry Met Sally". The final lines in "Singles" (between the main characters) were:

Steve: "What took you so long?"
Linda: "I was stuck in traffic"

Wil,
Would you happen to be thinking about the movie "When Harry Met Sally"?? and I quote
"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle in your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
I always liked that movie.
Happy Anniversary you two!
Posted by: Rich | November 7, 2003 03:22 PM
Wil - I sent that along to my fiancee. You took the words right out of me and expressed them better than I would have. I hope 8 years from now I still wake and sleep, live and breathe for my love. Thanks Wil, and Happy Anniversary to you two!! I'll tilt a one that is cold to you tonight.

Happy Anniversary!!! I wish you both many more!
I think it is nice you share such feelings with us. A true man is not ashamed to do so.
I feel the same way about my husband. I never want to be without him. I met him five years ago in a Horror Movie chat room. After a year of talking we met and the rest is history. Today we have been married for 2 years and four months. We were married in Las Vegas and we had an Elvis Impersonator it was cool!
I wish everyone gets the same kind of happiness that Will has and that I have. Love is so beautiful and timeless when it is pure.

What a wonderful post, it sounds like the kind of things I say to my girlfriend and we've only been together over a year. Sometimes I get discouraged that long-term relationships can't have long-term love since there are so little examples of it in today's society. IT is wonderful that you still have such deep feelings! Good lukc to you both on many years of love to follow!

Congratulations on your anniversary, the both of you. I hope you're still singing this song when you've been married 20 or 30 years from now.
My hubby and I have been married for *almost* 29 years, and have 4 grown kids. Yesterday, we went to lunch together, saw the new Matrix movie then did some shopping before going home. After all these years, I still love being with him. Even doing something as mundane as grocery shopping is fun with him.
Anyway, many more happy anniversaries to you both.

This is my first time here, and this is the first post that I read. WOW. :) That is so wonderful that you are that in love with your wife. There should be more people in the world like the two of you.
Happy Anniversary.
So nice to see the "realness" of people. Off to explore more of your site.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Bouyed by your poetic post, i put on my WWdN t-shirt, and went to Bankers Draft and Mission in Bedford, UK (a pub and a nightclub respectively)...
Because of you and your post, i told the girl who i've idolised for ages that i love her, and now we're going out. So thank you, Mr & Mrs Wheaton - one of your monkeys had a proper cool night cos of you!
Hope you have many more anniversaries to come... you're the most genuine person on the net (damnit, anywhere for that matter), and that just deserves respect!

To the moon and back 59 times? You've been to the border of the Romulan empire, you've chased the Borg light years across the galaxy - and all the love you can wish her spans between here and the moon? How cheap. If I was Anne, I'd feel short changed.
