hot, live action show for YOU!!
My pal Keith is running in the AIDS Marathon, and we're doing two special J. Keith vanStraaten shows to help raise money for him and his girlfriend.
The first show is coming up on Wednesday, January 7th. All the details are here.
The JKvS Show is always great fun. If you've seen me on TechTV, it's like that but without the constraints of television. Also, Keith and I have been friends for years, and when we're on stage together, we share a bit of a common brain, and that creates fantastic comedy.
If you're a kind-hearted person who wants to help out, but you can't make it to the show, go here and show your love in a donation sort of way.
Comments
woo! now with comments.
That's what I get for posting while on the antibiotics.
Oh look! Shiny!

Lovely mental image with the common brain.

Shiny is a good a thing and you know it. :P

Shiny rules.
I already got my tickets, Wil. I went to the show last year with Fred Willard, and had a great time. Looking forward to it!

Thanks for the heads-up, Wil! I donated what I could to Team Shvitz. Good luck with the shows!

Are you still going to be on Anti-biotics for the show?
That could be funny to watch. ;)

Good luck raising money. I do the AIDS walk every year here. I had an uncle die of AIDS a few years ago so it means even more now. So thanks for doing that Wil!

This is one reason I wished I lived on the west coast and not the east coast, also to have the money to live there.
Anyways, It sounds really really cool! Knock'em dead Wil!

Just to be clear, will this be at the Acme Theater? The website is vague.
Posted by: Eric Tyler | December 30, 2003 08:43 PM
Yeah, it's at the ACME on LaBrea.

Wil, I just thought I'd mention something about your "Read" Suggestion. The Federal Government has decided that the U.S. Almanac is a veritable gold mine of information for terrorists, and we should all be on the look out for suspicious people reading Almanacs. I'm not sure if the Farmer's Almanac qualifies you as an instant terrorist, but at least try and look nonchalant while your reading it.

ah, antibiotics. Now all you need are some pain killers so you can enjoy the pretty colours. Poor man, you're probably not eating either, yes? At the risk of sounding like my mom - have some soup, some herbal tea (it IS California after all!), i'm a big fan of the slippery elm for all things phlegmy.
feel better soon, and 'break a leg' on the show!(? Is that correct, or can we say 'good luck'?) whaddevah...all the best! :)

Oh my, Wil can now be classified as a terrorist by the Ashcroftians for having the Almanac on his page...yikes, and he takes drugs too and sees shiny things. What could those be, the Ashcroftians wonder....
By the way, Wil, the L.A. Auto Show is coming to L.A. on Jan. 2nd. Here's your chance to actually find it this year. It'll be at the L.A. Convention Center next to the Staples Center. Don't bring your Almanac! But you will see lots of shiny things there.

Get better Wil.
Good luck on the two specials.
I hate money, it's evil and right now tight.
But anyway get better soon.
I hate taking drugs for anything.
WEll at least you can live in a sorta fantasy world while on the drugs right?
LOL

As a visually impaired user I find it quite problematic that many WWDN links are labeled "here."
I navigate through a site by hitting my tab key, which bounces me from link to link. When I hit a link labeled "here" that provides absolutely no context.

I would be willing to pay for a DVD or even VHS copy of the show, if such a thing were to be made available. Even in a Homebrew Bootleg Ninja Style format...
Especially if it's for charity. :)

Speaking of the Farmer's Almanac: They have a website I go to every day. You'll like it, Wil.

I really wish I could get out that way for these kinds of events. Oh well...
At any rate, Happy New Year to All...

Wil,
Being a newbie to this board, may I please ask where one finds "TechTV?" Since I will be unable to see you at the stage thing, it would still be nice to view you elsewhere.

I hope you wash that brain before you hand it over. I've seen you on Tech TV and man, that mind is dirty! :-P

This is slightly off topic, but there just wasn't anywhere better to post this:
Happy New Year's, Wil. 2003 was the epitome of both ups and downs for you, from what I'd read on your Blog. I certainly don't know the lowest you hit, but I think getting a Three book deal with O'Reily was probably one of the highs. :)
In 2003, I got married to a beautiful, wonderful woman. I moved from Indiana to Arizona, started up a new career, and am working on getting an apartment and getting my dream of writing an amature movie started.
I wanted to say thank you, Wil Wheaton, for keeping this Blog. I've felt like I've gotten a peek in the window into the life of a Successful Person. Actor? That's debateable: Mr. Stitch is still one of my favorite movies (damn Amazon for charging $80 for a copy of it!)... Maybe it was _better_ to have been left out of the critical bomb that was Nemesis.
Sometimes I feel like, thanks to WWDN, that I've sat down and shared breakfast with you. I've reminisced when you have. I've shed a tear to more than one of your stories. I've cheered for you when I heard you'd gotten the book signing. I've gone in and hugged my wife in my arms when you spoke of how your own wife is your world.
Not much would please me more than meeting you for a book signing. I WILL be buying your books, and I will do what I can to actually come up to you and shake your hand.
I thank you, Wil Wheaton. You've touched my heart, and truely shown me perseverence. You've taught me to be honest with myself, and to be honest with my wife. You've taught me to keep my chin up even when I'm drowning.
Thank you, and Happy New Year's.
(ps: If you ever feel like e-mailing just anyone, I'd love to be one of those anyones.)
