I have a dumb idea, but it seems fun anyway. Wil Wheaton posted pics of the pumpkins that he and one of the children-types carved. So, I'm posting my pumpkin and pinging his entry. Then someone can ping this one... [Read More]

I'm guessing Nolan is on the left? LOL, could be yours too, who knows?
Actually, my pumpkins always look like the ones on the right only it seems like every year I make the mouths so big that the top part of the Jack'o'lantern's face usually sags into the mouth like an old man without teeth.

Great Pumpkins! Wow they are totally awesome dudes. LOL. I use to love baking the pumpkin seeds and eating them. I'd take a bag to school and share them with my friends. Those were the days. *sighs*

My pumpkins always look like they were hacked up by a one-armed blind man with a chainsaw.

I like em! The one on the left shows some out-of-the-box thinking and I've always been a big fan of original thinkers.
Hence, I read your blog.
People with no originality are as exciting as mud, after all.

Nice, very original designs.

Is it just me, or does the pumpkin on the left seem to be just a *little bit* embarrassed to be seen with the pumpkin on the right? ("Daddddd.....")

Very cool, especially the one on the right :) Saw a picture of your brother's fat cat, but I want to know about Softpaws since i never heard of it, doesnt it bother the cat ? or anything? I hate the thought of having my cat declawed.

Its amazing how Halloween is such a big thingin America. All it is in Ireland is simply that the good kids put on a black plastic bag, and knock on a few doors. The bad kids uload thier hoard or rotten eggs on cars and unsuspecting passers by.... No lights or decorations in the house, although some people have started it. just find it intresting how some things are commercialised that others depending on where you live

Heehee! Those are great! I didn't get around to carving mine this year... but I guess that means there'll be more to make into pie!

To address Iceriver, I work for our local SPCA and Softpaws are these vinyl caps that you can put cat's claws (they are glued on)and they'll last about a month or two. I recommend them, but fortunately my cats are pretty conservative with their claws. Anyway, check out the website if you're interested at www.softpaws.com
Sorry, Wil, didn't mean to hijack this question. Freddie Snowpants seems like such an interesting character. I have a cat ALMOST as fat. I love that pic though... (visit Wil's Flickr page if you're interested!)

If you actually read and reply to this it will make my week. My question is do you think Cpt. Picard could have possibly been your (character's) real father?

Oh those are really good.
we didn't carve pumpkins this year. i wasn't sure how they'd hold up with the hea we've been having in San Diego. ( we moved here from WA in Jan)

We have a pumpkin carving fest every year and have people vote for best and worst ones on the internet - today's the last day of voting:
http://www.omnium-gatherum.org/2005/10/31/pumpkin-voting-3/
We had 29 pumpkins this year
But you can also check out all the pictures from past years under the pumpkin category.

Interesting comment about Ireland, i'm originally from the east coast of Scotland, and while Halloween isn't as big a deal there as it is here (the states) it's bigger than you mentioned.
The tradition of carving the pumpkin actually came from Scottish/Irish settlers, only originally it was a turnip ... and it still is where I came from. Finding turnips in short supply they used a pumpkin instead, and believe me they are a LOT easier to cut up :).

I like them both, although to be quite honest, all the anime-based comp smileys (atleast thats what i think theyre from) are really starting to get on my nerves. So, what...photobucket and that other one ( i have an account there and I xcant remember the name. whats wrong with this picture?), whats with both of em?
