Hockey being my favorite sport, how could I not comment on that,since its been brought up. I could not be more happy the the Flyers & Detroit are #1 in their respective conferences. My two favorite teams.

The Lakers weren't "helping" anybody. They didn't "give the game away". Two good teams played a basketball game. Both teams play hard. Some one had to win and surprise, it wasn't the Lakers. Why dump on the other team? The Sixers won b/c they played well, not b/c the Lakers let them. That's also disrespectful to the Lakers. They are competitors, they would never just let some one win. Maybe they didn't play as well as one thought they should have played. But saying they essentially rolled over diminishes both teams.

The Lakerboard gets everything... the good, the bad, the embarassing, the obscene, the superfluous.

It's my dumping ground.

They know me all too well over there, and no doubt most of them wish they knew me a whole lot less.

NBA bores me, the Vikings sucked this year, the Twins are trying to appeal themselves out of baseball, and I'm still too bitter over the Northstars moving to Dallas (there is no Ice in Texas) to get excited about the Wild. I guess that leaves the WNBA, which gets no coverage hereabouts, or the MINNESOTA VIXEN WFL team. Which is way cool, but they play about a 2 1/2 game season and also get no coverage.

I've come to realize that it is impossible to escape from basketball...good or bad. Of course, where I live, people are still upset about Bob Knight getting fired a YEAR AGO that the NBA is almost welcome entertainment.

Last night or the night before Prince was at the Raptors game (here in TO) - i can't recall when i was talking to my aunt, but whatever. Anyway, because we are all so entralled with basketball, her one anecdote about the game (where she apparently had good seats - a couple of rows up from his Purpleness) was that he was "tiny, and ugly". and "wearing altogether too much makeup".

giving the women of my family basketball tix is obviously pointless.

Seeing WATCH link, I tell you what really pissed me off recently. Twin Peaks was a cult TV series in my teenage years, but I never watched it then. So wanting finally to catch up, my husband and I just spent about $90 Canadian on the Twin Peaks DVD set and the PILOT is NOT included!!! How does that make any sense...? Yeah, we just saw him, as the special guest questioner when the contestant took on the "Star Trek Geek." My wife and I recognized him immediately, and started cheering. He looked good, and read the questions with his usual wit. (Admittedly, reading two questions off index cards doesn't leave much room for improv, but he did it with style.)

As for the "Star Trek Geek"...god, he was verbose. It made me want to do a WFS and yell "GET A LIFE!" And, hell, I could have answered those questions as well as he could :-).
