« Mister Mastodon Farm | Main | Mailbox is full » February 07, 2002A questionMorning everyone. Over at ThinkGeek, they have this option for you to see their products "in action". Basically, what people do is send in creative pictures of themselves wearing a T-shirt, or drinking from a glass, or something showing a mousepad, or something. I'm wondering, when I get the gallery fixed, would anyone be interested in, and willing to send in jpegs of some of the WWDN schwag "in action"? I think we could have some fun with it. Comments
(Double post, Wil.) Posted by: Chad at February 7, 2002 08:17 AM"Hello...my name is Mrs. F****** Veteran!" lol! Sure, why not...or HEY, WAIT a Minute...is this some sort of conspiracy to get us to buy WWDN swag!! Oh, the horror, the sheer horror! Wil's got us again! -- actually....i think the idea is pretty funny......i say go for it Wil.....just let us know when to send in some funny pics..... cheers ty Posted by: Tyson at February 7, 2002 08:25 AMNo problem here. If you'll recall, my wife had a serious crush on you when she was younger. She asked you for a mask of you that she could put over my face...:-D I'm not sure if I should file for divorce now or after we send in the picture ;-) Posted by: Rusty at February 7, 2002 08:36 AMI've been planning on ordering a posse tshirt, I'm all for it! Posted by: Flann at February 7, 2002 08:40 AMHmmm...Spudnuts in WWDN boxers --scary or sexy?! Posted by: gringa latina at February 7, 2002 08:46 AMOh, most certainly. That's a great idea! I can see it now...it's gonna be like those 7-Up commercials "show us your can". And Wil's gonna get all these really great photo of people doing all SORTSA creative things with those WWDN mousepads..... LOL! Posted by: turtles11 at February 7, 2002 09:02 AMawww my post was deleted.. show me the love wil *grin*
As previously said in my deleted double post reply: I'm all for the it, if I can come up with an interesting enough idea. Posted by: Gaea at February 7, 2002 09:03 AMspunds like fun, must find a way of ordering stuff! Being in Britian sucks sometimes. It rains, and rains and rains and I cant get anything from america because I dont have the right stuff!!! :-( Posted by: Beastly_spike at February 7, 2002 09:07 AMI actually was planning on sending up the stills from my last show, where the main character wears a "Wil Has A Posse" shirt (which the actor hi-jacked from me, by the way). It's cool to know they'll have a place. Still need to get a WFS shirt, though. Posted by: Rob Matsushita at February 7, 2002 09:08 AMNow if I could only find some shoes that would go with that stunning mousepad... Posted by: MrsVeteran at February 7, 2002 09:13 AMOh, I'll *prolly* buy a t-shirt. 'N I'll *maybe* send in a pic. But what I really wanna know is: Why the fuck are you up so early? Didn't you get to bed at something like the buttcrack of dawn last night? Tch. Someone needs to call your mother... Oh. Wait. I was up at that hour too, wasn't I? (emily litella) Nevermind. (/emily litella) Posted by: MsAllegro at February 7, 2002 09:14 AMI would totally do it! :) I'd love to show off my WFS tee Posted by: meeee at February 7, 2002 09:15 AMI got up early this morning so Anne could sleep in. She didn't get home until 1:30, or something, and she's got to go right back to the set, and work until at least midnight...so I got up to take care of the boys, and get them so school, so she could sleep in. Posted by: wil at February 7, 2002 09:19 AMYou responsible bastard. Posted by: Rob Matsushita at February 7, 2002 09:23 AM*joining the evil posting innercircle* I'm glad not just that Wil cleaned up the double post of this entry, but that he deleted the one that had my seriously lame comments and attempts at humor on it. Thanks for saving me from some embarassment, Wil! :) Remember-think before you post! Posted by: Jon at February 7, 2002 09:27 AMAw, Wil.. that's so damn cool. Ain't it great being married to someone you love so much that you wanna do that stuff for? Good on you for that. Me, I avoid the issue entirely by being online all night :) Oh, wait. That's not so good, is it? -Shawna-- drifting further offtopic Posted by: MsAllegro at February 7, 2002 09:34 AM/me rushes off to the WWDN store to purchase an entire WWDN ensemble to go with the WFS shirt I already have... ...damn, I'm not that rich. It'd be amusing, though. Okay, maybe not that amusing. Nevermind. Going back to work now. ;-) Posted by: djwudi at February 7, 2002 09:45 AMOh - and as far as the photos? Sure, I'll send ya a WWDN mug shot. Feel free to use, discard, or send to FARK for photoshopping as deemed fit. Posted by: djwudi at February 7, 2002 09:47 AMHeh. I think a shot of five or ten geeky types in 'posse' t-shirts staring menacingly at the camera would be an excellent selling tool. You need some gang signs, Wil.
:) Posted by: Allison at February 7, 2002 09:58 AMThis is THE FUNNIEST site in the world. I don't know if this is a good idea. I don't wanna see a picture of Spudnuts. Or any nuts. --NT But wait a minute -- don't you sell underwear? Oh man... Posted by: justanotherjulie at February 7, 2002 10:08 AMIm totally for it when i get around to ordering one, or rather when i get the free $30.00 to do so ! Amy Posted by: Amy at February 7, 2002 10:23 AMi'm all for it, so long as you group the underwear pictures away from everything else. so people may choose whether or not they want to see spudnuts in boxers. Posted by: hedgiewan at February 7, 2002 10:27 AMWill we get paid in any way to hawk your swag? Maybe a multi-million dollar contract, like the one Britney has with Pepsi? Posted by: tekfighter at February 7, 2002 10:42 AMI like the menacing geeks idea. I do admit to *actually* laughing out loud for that one. Me, I think I'm going to go for the girly and get the "womens" tshirt. Let's hear it for the CT Posse! Posted by: Flann at February 7, 2002 10:44 AMWIL! A WET T-SHIRT CONTEST! YES!! YES!!YES!!YES!!YES!!YES!!YES!!YES!!YES!! (I was "forced" to post this by my demented, yet demented husband....) Posted by: Polly at February 7, 2002 10:46 AMYeah, it's a good idea, IF there's actually creative pics. A bunch of hairy dudes wearing WFS T-shirts, holding beers, and "throwing" peace signs is just, well, TOO lame. *revelling once again in the lameness of posting* Posted by: AMStrange at February 7, 2002 10:48 AMGreat. Now you'll have 50 jpegs of the teddy bear dressed up like a leather boy. i will send in jpgs with wwdn swag! me me me! i love u wil!!! xoxo Ferris wearing a WFS t-shirt with a Posse hat and playing poker with Data, Riker, Troi and Stephen Hawking? Damn straight, I'd like to see it!! Posted by: Don at February 7, 2002 11:04 AMBack in November I went to a Star Trek convention and I wore my 'Wil has a posse' shirt. I think I have a picture of me standing next to Denise Crosby or George Takei while I'm wearing that shirt. I'll have to look thru my photos. Oh my god! I'm such a dork! Ah! Some one took a picture of me at work on a day I wore that shirt and right behind me is a big sign I made that reads: I WAS A TEENAGE SITH LORD! surrounded by Star Wars themed pez dispensers. How about that one? Posted by: jl at February 7, 2002 11:09 AMonce i get my hot little hands on a shirt or something, i'm all for it. Posted by: wibble at February 7, 2002 11:12 AMAw, too sweet, ain't being a newlywed grand? I remember the days....... barely. I think your gallery idea would be great!! Go for it Wil. Have a great day too. :-) gringa latina said: >> Hmmm...Spudnuts in WWDN boxers --scary or sexy?! Scary AND sexy. Posted by: Spudnuts at February 7, 2002 11:20 AMOh yaaaaah. My wife, soon to be 52, is thinking about quitting your job to be your stalker, Wil! How about the "Subvert the Mass Media" idea that NTK (http://www.ntk.net/) does with it's shirts? See http://www.geekstyle.co.uk/index.cgi?product=showWin%20free%20stuff for what I mean... Hey Wil here is a way to raise money for the site... A Pic of Spudnuts in WWDN boxers: 1-900-555-YESS Only 4.99 a minute. My best friend and I have matching WWDN shirts, so we could probably think up something... Posted by: Aura at February 7, 2002 12:07 PMFirst of all the "idea" for Mrs. Wheaton's night out was totally cool. Second, hell yea! Bring on the pics. I was wearing my lucky "WFS" and won the wet t-shirt contest! I'll show ya mine if you show me yours!(t-shirt photos that is) Nothing like showing the world how proud we are of our stuff! Posted by: xxxfuture at February 7, 2002 12:11 PMonly if we get to VOTE for WHOM is displayed I could work up an MPEG of me doing push-ups in the rain, naked but for my WWDN boxers sobbing... "I got nowhere else to go!" Posted by: Spudnuts at February 7, 2002 12:17 PMDamn, I just spent a good wad of cash on the aforementioned ThinkGeek.com on some baby tees (the tag one and "no I will not fix your computer" one, hee). But I'll find a way to get WWDN schwag. Payday is next week. ;) /Court Posted by: Courtney at February 7, 2002 12:34 PMWhy are your boxers sobbing? (I'm scared, hold me....) Posted by: xxxfuture at February 7, 2002 12:37 PMso wait, staying up until 1-2am and getting up at 8am ISNT normal? maybe thats why im so tired all the time... Posted by: daepheus at February 7, 2002 12:51 PMIt could be like the models of the fuckedcompany.com tshirts. You know, t-shirt and nothing else on, with the camera placing the girl just so you can't see it but YOU KNOW it. (luckily, they give you the option of not having to look at it, if you're not into seeing porn stars at work.) Posted by: jennHi at February 7, 2002 12:51 PMSorry, I actually forget my old name here since before the comments sections left and came back. Glad to see the gang back. Please though, I can decide what size I want the windows on _my_ screen to be. I cannot size this here window at all!! ARGGH!!! You sunk my battleship! I read darn fast, and cannot imagine idling away much of my time peering into this little window doing scroll-bar calisthenics. It's worse than riding in the back seat on a hot day with a window that only rolls halfway down. I have tons of respect for how hard you work on this site and what you have accomplished. If possible, please fix this one "feature". Thanks very much!!! Hmmm.... I think I'm sounding trite today. Sorry. Flann: Whizeaton in da hizouse, blood. (jbarn throws the 'W' sign and dares those Shatnah playaz to gat him.)

My WWDN t-shirt just came in the mail today! I was so excited! I would love it if you had an area for peeps who support your site in a pre-shrunk-cotton sort of way. Posted by: Heidi at February 7, 2002 02:20 PMOK, so I was just checking out the store in response to this entry, and I have a question about those posse shirts. Does that mean that Wil is 5' 4'', and weighs 125 lbs? Posted by: T'sai Amanda at February 7, 2002 02:37 PMI've set-up a PayPal account for donations to the boxers for SpudNuts. Please feel free to donate to the "Boxers for SpudNuts" portrait. The more you donate, the bigger the picture and the nicer the framing for the wall! Plus, if you act now...you and others have the distinct right to bitch about another idea with good intentions gone bad! Posted by: Roughy at February 7, 2002 03:12 PMI got nowhere else to go! Posted by: Spudnuts at February 7, 2002 03:41 PMso, are we all going to have to put our eyes out after viewing the pics page, or what? Posted by: Gigi at February 7, 2002 04:00 PMSounds like a great idea!! I better start buying merchandise huh? :cP Posted by: Jamie at February 7, 2002 04:09 PMOk, How about new T'Shirts that have like a monkey on them and they say WWDN, or even four monkeys dressed differently, with Wil Wheaton has a posse on them. Sorry Wil just couldn't pass it up.. hehe Posted by: Lobos34 at February 7, 2002 04:17 PMhow about a pic of wil tied up and the dominatrix in a WWDN shirt, id like to see that Posted by: jennifer at February 7, 2002 04:40 PMYou and me both, sister! Posted by: Gaea at February 7, 2002 05:33 PMIf you could send me a WFS t-shirt, I can either... a) Snap a pic of myself wearing it while on the radio, or b) Get someone to snap a pic of me wearing it while being arrested. The choice is yours, sir. Posted by: Radiofreewill at February 7, 2002 05:55 PMThis has got to be the funniest site on the web! WWDN rocks. I like the wet t-shirt idea. I will try and convince my wife to do one. She just started watching STNG reruns and I am trying to explain who Uncle Willy is. She is new to the internet and needless to say she does not get what this is all about. Posted by: EddieWojo at February 7, 2002 06:01 PMHEY WIL! Hey we're talking a 150% mark up here. If it fits, I promise to wear it, and nothing else. It may, however, prove difficult to find someone willing to photograph me... Posted by: duchess at February 7, 2002 06:32 PMI will buy a t-shirt or something cool for my B-day next month. :D Posted by: Artisticspirit at February 7, 2002 07:39 PMHey, We will be known by the tracks we leave behind... Posted by: Lobos34 at February 7, 2002 07:51 PMWhat lobos is refering to is the cool design he's done for me, that I'm currently deciding what to do with. :) Sorry for the lag in email, Lobos...I've been putting out some fires. :) Posted by: wil at February 7, 2002 07:56 PMI think you should make a shirt out of the picture of Spudnuts doing pushups in the rain in only the WWDN boxers. Then you could have a real "wet" t-shirt contest with that! Posted by: seafoodgod at February 7, 2002 08:07 PMWell Lobos34 Wil please forgie my pathetic offer...I was only wanting to help out....though I bit too hyper about it. Posted by: Spudnuts at February 7, 2002 09:10 PMI take it back...Wil if the art thing doesn't work out between you and Lobos34 Give me a chance Posted by: Artisticspirit at February 7, 2002 11:10 PMI wanna wear stuff!! I just have to wait to beable to afford stuff. with the shipping to canada and the exchange rate...*sigh* 20 bucks become 75. Drax'n Posted by: Draxen at February 7, 2002 11:13 PMOne good thing I learned from this thread is that if you go to the schwag page and click back and forth on the View Front/Back icons, you can get the shirts to do little dances. I like the ash-gray one best. Put some BeeGees on Winamp and give it a try. Dude Spudnuts in boxers and Roughy can pose with a strategically placed mousepad or hat. Actually, the idea of seeing what people do with their posse gear is a little scary. Not quite clown-scary, but scary enough to make you think it's a brilliant idea. Go for it! Posted by: Paradoxfalls at February 8, 2002 03:20 AMwil i think you should be selling spudnuts schwag after all, you made him a star and he has nowhere else to go Posted by: jbay at February 8, 2002 03:43 AMSo Wil, is this a quid pro quo type deal? Pictures of us in posse gear get uploaded at the rate that pictures of you in Jane White paraphernalia get uploaded? Hey, who'da thunk that Latin major would ever come in handy? Any time I get the chance to mess around -- and take PICTURES, mind you -- with anything considered 'schwag,' I jump at the chance. I spend a fair amount of time at race tracks where there is a fair amount of racing schwag; But schwag at the track isn't really schwag unless it is obtained for free (or quid-pro-quo, dependant on double coincidence of wants). I could prolly take a ww.net item to the summit of a high mountain for a picture. Say, Mt. Shasta this spring? It wouldn't be the same as going to the summit of a high mountain yourself (see your wish list) but it ought to count for something. Posted by: Rob at February 8, 2002 01:46 PMHeh. I'll send ya pics of me in the WFS t-shirt at the Star Trek Experience in Vegas from October. A fun time was had by all during that trip. The Captain Kirk cardboard cut-out didn't mind having his picture taken with the shirt. The Ferengi guy, however, would only take his pic with the back of the t-shirt (and hence the url, happily), so he would not appear to be taking sides. ;) Posted by: Vanessa at February 8, 2002 06:46 PMAwww...I don't think that Lobos was being mean. He *did* snicker, after all. Anyone who would like to do some design, and send it in, is 100% welcome, as far as I am concerned :) I would be honored, ArtisticSpirit, to see what you have in mind :) Posted by: wil at February 8, 2002 11:40 PMI got your e-mail. ;) Everythings cool.
