113-107

So the Lakers just won the NBA Championship for the third year in a row.

You know how I know that I am 100% Los Angeles sports fan?

As soon as the game was over, I turned on the local news channel so that I can watch the victory riot.

So far, it's pretty bush league, but I'm sure they'll be flipping over cars within the hour.

UPDATE: Dang. The LAPD got in there with their rubber bullets and tear gas, and they didn't even let the fans start one fire.

Oh well. There's always the victory parade.

Oh, and you know what I effing LOVE about these post-game interviews?

These guys are so. Incredibly. STUPID.

in fact, I like it so much I'm going to go outside and tip my moms suburban.

I prefer college riots to pro riots. But whatever tickles your pickle.

Posted by: Enuma at June 12, 2002 09:33 PM

But...but...there are none of those little flag thingies on the cars so they won't be able to tell which cars NOT to flip over! *whimper* :P

Posted by: sleepy at June 12, 2002 09:37 PM

Yeah well don't think the lakers are going to get out of NJ alive. Right now some italian business associates are "taking care of business". The great thing is that the arena is right in the meadowlands so they only have to walk about 100 feet off the parking lot to dump the bodies.

FUCK YOU L.A.!!!!

Posted by: NJ Nets Fan at June 12, 2002 09:40 PM

the riots are the best part!

Posted by: Margie Targie at June 12, 2002 09:52 PM

I'd post something pithy and profound, but I want a new TV, and it looks like this riot is going to have a pretty short window...

::runs to the electronics store with rock raised high::

Yea, Lakers!!! ;)

Posted by: zootnarf at June 12, 2002 10:07 PM

Bush-league? C'mon, Uncle Willie! George has his hands full as it is...

Posted by: BBOCK at June 12, 2002 10:07 PM

Dude i love Sports but not enough to go out and flip huge cars all by my self i need at least 5-8 friends hence the riots--- Ha Ha Ha... Way to go Lakers!!!

Posted by: Andie-Gypsy_girl at June 12, 2002 10:51 PM

Yo Wil, it's 113-107!

Can't wait 'til the parade on Friday. :]

Posted by: galestorm at June 12, 2002 10:53 PM

Yeah, talk about parties?

Don't forget the World Cup!
http://worldcup.espnsoccernet.com/index?lang=en

Now THIS could be a hell of a party.

Posted by: Courtney at June 12, 2002 11:04 PM

The LAPD actually doing something smart?! The world is coming to an end.

I feel so disappointed living in the Midwest...I've never gotten to participate in a Sports riot, even though my hometown has had its own share of wins over the years in various sports. We don't set fires, we just honk our horns.

Oh yeah...I just remembered where our current football team came from.

Wil...as galestorm pointed out..you made another typo....you need more sleep...

Posted by: John at June 12, 2002 11:07 PM

Hey. You know the LAPD-- they treat you like a King.

Posted by: Chuggnutt at June 12, 2002 11:17 PM

I have to say, I really hate the Lakers. Congratulations to them anyway; they are the best team in the league right now. What I hate even worse than the Lakers, though, is Jim Gray!! Every person he EVER interviews, he asks the same damn question. "How does this make you feel?" Now, he does have about 20 different versions of this question, but it is basically the same question. It is the ONLY question he ever asks!!!grrr! I'm glad your team one, they are the best, but I still hate them!

Posted by: Robin at June 12, 2002 11:29 PM

that THAT, new jersey!

a loss by negative four. wrap your brain around that one.

[LOL at poor wil ;) ]

Posted by: isabel at June 12, 2002 11:44 PM

aww, you fixed the amusing typing error. now what will i do for fun, if i can't laugh at that?

sorry. kidding. hope you enjoyed the riots, anyhow. :]

Posted by: isabel at June 13, 2002 12:18 AM

Yep. Made another typo.

I blame this one on my haste to get to the riot before The Man shut it down.

Posted by: wil at June 13, 2002 12:23 AM

Totally off topic.

Just curious, but what service do you use to log your statistics (e.g., visits total, broken down by IP)?

I'm having a bitch of a time finding a good free one for my site.

Posted by: Allan at June 13, 2002 12:47 AM

I'm glad the Lakers won just so that I don't have to suffer through any more of this bullshit NBA season. It's over at last and the team they pre-selected to win won so what's the big fuckin breu-ha-ha all about anyway? Besides I'm fucking pissed because there was a reject from the state school for the mentally retarded manning the register at IHOP about an hour ago. I thought the idiots out celebrating the Lakers winning was bad but that wasn't shit compared to the incompetent motherfucker that worked there. I'd pay for ya'll to send some of those rioters this way... eh nevermind.

Do ya think Phil Jackson gets all his championship rings the same size or does he size them for each finger?

Posted by: Radiofreewill at June 13, 2002 01:32 AM

You realize it's all Phil Jackson, right? I used to think that sports teams were all players and that any idiot could manage. Then the Bulls (Chicago is my home turf even though I live in Cali now) won seven in a row. Of course, it probably had a bit to do with Jordan and Rodman and Pippen, but Rodman and Pippen moved on and didn't do nearly as well where they ended up. It's all Phil Jackson, I'm tellin' you.

And now I'm waiting for the day that Satan calls in his tab.

You know, in S Korea they decided to hire a whole boat-load of female police officers to stop the world cup rioters. They figured that the foreigners would be more likely to respect women officers.
Yeah...nobody more respectful than a really drunk and pissed of soccer fan!

Uh Wil, isn't there are riot in L.A. every night? I heard it only grows in proportion when there is a reason, like some L.A. sports team victory? I know 'back under rock now.' I'm going.

Posted by: Nyarl at June 13, 2002 04:52 AM

All right, I'm from NJ and haven't watched a b-ball game since Jordan retired from the Bulls, but I must congratulate the Lakers anyway. Congrats! :) Now, I have a totally off-topic question, but since a while back we were talking about turning 30, I thought this might be the place to ask it. Way back in the foggy reaches of my memory, I remember a children's book that was basically a catalog of all kinds of neat stuff you could order. It wasn't a real catalog, mind you; the only thing I can actually remember from it was a faucet that would spew out anything you wanted it to, and the example they gave in the book was ginger ale, and they had it filling a pool so you could swim in it. At the end of the book, the instructions were to cut out your order form and stick it in the hollow of a tree, so the witch could come get it and deliver your goods. I know it sounds crazy, but I'm not making this up. If anybody has any info on this book, would you please e-mail me at allywag67@aol.com? I would love you forever. Thank you so much! :)
Love, Alicia

Oh, Wil.

I sincerely hope that was a tongue-in-cheek post. My personal belief is that if the fans of a championship team riot or commit other forms of mayhem (and I'm talking about professional, semi-pro and college), their team is automatically ineligible for the next TWO championships. Automatically. No appeals, no reversals, no reviews, no reductions in penalty.

I'm so tired of people using any excuse to go out and act like anarchy reigns.

I fear when Detroit finishes wins the Stanley Cup.

Posted by: Kahuna at June 13, 2002 05:21 AM

As some one else pointed out, its been a really long time since any of the teams from the big 4 sports won a championship. I'd really like to see one but I'm kind of afraid of the riots that may result. By the way, could some one explain that too me? Hey! We won! Let's go destroy the city! Not that I get the Hey we lost, let's go destroy the city mentality, either.
So, whats this talk I hear on the local news around here (Philly)? Shaq may not return to play next year? I am not a Shaq fan at all. Regardless, I don't think he should retire. Unless he is more banged up & hurt than we realize. Is anyone else hearing this information anywhere?

Posted by: jl at June 13, 2002 05:33 AM

Um... go Kings.

And not the shit hockey team. The ones who outplayed the Lakers in 5 out of 7 games in the Western Conference Finals. *Sniffle*

I suggest people go to ESPN.com's Page 2, and reading the "Letter to Shaq". I'd give the link, but I'm too lazy. :)

Enough whining for me. Congrats to the Lakers, and all that jazz... back to sniveling about the Kings with me...

Humm. Well. That's no fun.

Posted by: yoyofool at June 13, 2002 06:34 AM

Congrats, Wil, to you and the Lakers.

Funniest celebration this past year was the Super Bowl when the Pats won. It was so sudden and unexpected, both the people AND the cops in Boston didn't know what to do. No damage, a few people dancing on cars, some arrests, and the cops watched on just making sure no one was hurting themselves or property.

Posted by: LittleGuy at June 13, 2002 06:38 AM

YEAH BUTTERKNEES!!!

GO KINGS, THE REAL CHAMPS!! The ones who didnt get a damn thing because the DIDNT "Start with a C and ends with a T".

For the record i hate SHAQ, WALTON, & GRAY. Get those three out of the NBA and things will be purrrrrrrfect!

Funniest thing shaq has ever said was to Gray the other day after game 3

O'neal to Gray: "Tyson should have knocked you out last night"

TOO DAMN FUNNY. I think thats the only intelligent thing Shaq has probably said in his life. KAZAM!!! hahahaha what a moron. CAN YA FEEL THE NEGATIVITY ABOUT THIS FLOWING OUT OF ME??

Anywho, enjoy your rioting. Bibby....Resign him....Peja back in full health = perfect team.

THE KINGS HAVE AN ALL STAR TEAM! You have two players. Without those players your nothing. If we lose one of our star players....no biggie we still dominate....if you lose one of those two...its over.

THROW THAT DOWN BIG MAN, THROW THAT DOWN!

GO KINGS!

Re: Kahuna's comments.

Let me say that if your whole 'miss two championships' thing were gospel law. I'd have gone to Detroit after they SWEPT my beloved Flyers and started a riot.

And also, as an anarchist, I take umerage to the inference that anarchy is some how associated to senesless violence and drunk basketball fans wrecking shit because their team won a goddamned game.

Anarchy isn't the absence of laws, it's the absence of abusive authority, and mutual respect between soveriegn individuals.

Posted by: Jay at June 13, 2002 06:53 AM

2 words for Kings fans - free throws. You have a great team. Better luck next year.

Until then - YEAH LAKERS!!!

Posted by: shrike at June 13, 2002 07:09 AM

Wil,

I know what you mean about the quality of the riots going down in recent years. Why, back when I was in college, we had Vietnam to riot against and let me tell you, those were the days! Actual teargas and campus cops learning how to use their clubs on prone students.

I went back to school in the late 1980s to work on a masters' degree and the kids then were rioting against apartheid. But, instead of tearing apart bookstores and trashing the student union and spitting at cops, what do you suppose they did? They built shantytowns in the middle of campus and whined because they couldn't get electricity out in the cardboard shacks to run their hair dryers and boomboxes while they were protesting.

Hell of a way to run a protest, I say.

Us veterans, we just stood there and shook in silent mirth at these wannabe rioters.

I hear tell today that the most anti-establishment thing they do at my alma mater is get together and burn sofas on the lawns of frat houses.

So, buck up Wil. Nothing is ever the same -- not even after-sports-event riots.

With tongue firmly in cheek, I remain,

Yr. Obt. svt.

Mmmmm.... civil insurrection

Posted by: slipkid at June 13, 2002 07:59 AM

Wil, I know you were being tongue-in-cheek, but I gotta speak out:

Just WHEN did it become OK to destroy people's private property at the end of every pro & college sports season, win or lose? But I believe the U.S. version started with the NBA.

And that is the crystalization of the argument that the NBA is the epitomy of what is wrong with professional sports; unbelievable salaries, unfinished educations, and NO repsect for anybody but themselves. Oh yeah, they visit a children's hospital during their seasons.

When they had the NBA All-Star game here in Philly this year, I couldn't wait for all the new-money, jewlery dripping, heavily hair straightened, fake fingenailed, fur coat wearing, SUV driving bitches to get the hell out of town.

They didn't give a fuck about anybody but hoping to look like they belonged or be a star fucker. And they drove like maniacs! Not to mention the rest taking up our precious few parking spaces with their goddamned limos.

Screw the NBA and MLB too for that matter. Hope you're all looking forward to the baseball strike this year. But what the hell, the NBA, NFL, & NHL are just starting up then. So at least there will some blood sports on TV.

Congrats Lakers.
Though you could've said that as soon as they beat the kings. Let's face it, if Portland hadn't traded away Jordan in the draft (Talk about things you regret!), there wouldn't have been an Eastern (wimp) Conference team with champ rings for at least the past ten years, if not longer.

Posted by: dake at June 13, 2002 09:03 AM

Y'know, know one outside of LA even cared about the NBA Finals. I can hardly call this 3rd Finals win a victory. The Lakers have no heart. If this were the Magic/Kareem team of yesteryear, people would be talking. As far as this bunch of clowns goes, no one (outside of LA)cares.

Posted by: Greg at June 13, 2002 09:13 AM

Riots? What the hell are you rioting for?

I mean Jeez...

I'm from Jersey... I root for the Yankees. I root for the Rangers. I root for the Giants. I root for the Nets.

Save the Nets, each of them have won a championship in my adulthood (since 1989).

There were NO riots to speak of...

And the Rangers hadn't won a Cup since 1940!!!

People seem to think that winning a championship in some sport gives you a free pass to be a wild and crazy as you want. It's a free "steal an appliance of your choice" card.

Get a life, folks.

Everybody is so afraid of New York... Then how come, if we're so crazy over here, WE can celebrate in peace? No fires. Cars with all four tires on the road. No deaths. Nothing. Just a bunch of happy people going out and getting drunk and partying.

L.A., serious congrats. The better team won. But you need to grow the hell up. Jeez! It's not like the Lakers have never won anything before...

Posted by: Potch at June 13, 2002 09:19 AM

can you tell im bored at work??

GREG: REGARDING NO ONE OUTSIDE OF LA CAREING....Your right...although i did watch the games because i was rooting for the NETS...but this years finals had the lowest standings since 1981. NO ONE CARED.

I like Kobe, he is amazing...and they have some great up and coming players ie. Horry and I really like Fisher...its guys liek FOX & O'NEAL that make me want to put this team out of its missery.

Today a Laker fan said to me "Bitter Table, Party of 1...3 peat....itso k, how many do the Kings have, how many do we have?"

My Response: "3 cheat, and we have no Rings because we want to EARN OURS, NOT BUY THEM!"

Next year is our year!!

Curious, if I made a movie, or a musica; band that starred mostly Black folk, you think I might actually try to capitalize on that inherent (built-in) demographic?? Strange then, how the NBA plays Van Hagar songs into breaks, and virtually never shows an ounce of 'Soul' on their broadcasts? Is Ahmad Rashad suppose to cover all that??

Anybody seen the boxing film 'The Great White Hype'?

Curious, how all the most heated NBA rivalries seem to be between melanin challenged teams vs. dark ones?? Michael Cooper / Orlando Woolridge :)

Magic & Jordan (and his tongue) sho did smile big though din't they :)

Could it be that Shaq's lack of "cross-over" / caucasian appeal stems from his Big-Blackness? Diesel taps into the most primordial fears of 'certain' biggots. I wonder if they'll identify themselves for us? Funny thing about Bush-leaguers, they're about subtle as a sledgehammer -- very revealing (hehe)

Im sure thats not too vague...Or maybe at the 1st quarter of game six, where WEBER GOT A TECHNICAL AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A DOUBLE TECH WITH KOBE & WEBBER...hmm....I think thats good enough for now.

Lakers are a great team, im not taking that away. I despise shaq, and i dispise the calls in game 6. BUT i also know we had the chance to close it out in game 7 but we didnt. I'm oh-so-tired of ungrateful cow-fans crying about OT calls, when they didn't earn OT in the first place. Givin every oppurtunity to win (uneven foul calls/shots), whiners still cry about perceived injustices. If there was any fix this post season it was to build up the Kings as an heir-apparent to the Purple 'n Gold. Pleeeeeaaaassse. Flopping sure does equate to skill (hahaha). Even in the finals, Costas, Albert & Co. (aka the funky soul bros.) kept harping on how the Kings made the Lakers as good as they were (hehe, cough, bullshit).
Funny how none of the bigmen of NJ were falling like forest timber?? Did Shaq just radically change his game? Or did NJ choose the game of b-ball over hyped dramatics.

Webber had the shot at the end, and choked [as cow-Kings always do]. Get real, please.

Weapons of mass distraction.

Anyone else remember the Vegas-Boxing styled One-on-One card Dr.J put together. He got slapped down in his one-on-one match vs. Kareem. Hahaha. That epitomizes the Laker haters point of view perfectly. They bet that the all-wonderful Dr. Julius would embarass #33 (hehe). Instead Dr. J got pimp-slapped. I have that one on tape :)

Funny how we never saw any more of those pay-per-view one-on-one cards?! Dr. J said he'd planned on doing more (before he got beat so badly). Hahahah.

Unruly & ridiculous calls are made all of the time in the NBA, NO MATTER WHAT TEAM IT IS. I don't need to provide anyone with anymore examples because ANY basketball fan knows that's an undeniable fact.

Although I would love it if the Lakers ended next year with a 4-Peat, right now I don't see that happening. The Western Conference is hands-down the most dominant Conference in the NBA today, and next year it will be even harder for the Lakers to capture the Championship again. The Lakers/Kings Series is a testament to that.

So yes, I will defend my Lakers, but I am not blind to their faults, either.

And Lisa Marie, I'm as much a basketball fan as you are, so don't even go there.

Posted by: The Threepeat Broom at June 13, 2002 02:57 PM

Shaq is (at least) the 3rd Laker Center that has caused league-wide rule changes. Look it up. Kareem's was in college though.

I'm sure Vlade could inspire a no-flop flagrant [rule change]. We could use the instant replay for that too. If a flop is caught = instant technical.

Only losers need volume / decibels to win (mooo)

there was at least 1 small fire in front of the Forum... but nothing to blog about :P

Posted by: AMStrange at June 13, 2002 03:27 PM

i knew the Lakers would win! they are the best of the best! when they won, i was so happy, i was jumping up and down!! i support the Lakers 1000%! who cares if they already won twice, now they won three times!soon four and five.... you get my drift!

Posted by: Ashley at June 13, 2002 04:52 PM

Wil,
How BORING it is for the same basketball team to win every year...and this is from a NON-basketball fan. Although I must admit to loving my hometown SPURS! Now THAT team has some men on it with some REAL CLASS. But, overall, what does the winning team REALLY do for the average, hard-working, 9-5 "joe"??? Not a damn thing, so I say GET A LIFE, those of you who go out "celebrating" by turning over cars and throwing rocks through legitimate businesses.

Scratching head over the whole "mess",

To fenaray:

Didn't Detroit start the "riot after the championship" mess when the Tigers won the World Series in 1984? I'm kinda old (over 40), so my memory might be playin' tricks.

Posted by: shrike at June 13, 2002 06:41 PM

Mmmm, gravy and riots.

Posted by: KJB at June 13, 2002 06:45 PM

Hi Lisa Marie,

I'm with you on the officiating during the Lakers-Kings series. Some of it was pretty bad. But, this always happens in the NBA. There are different rules for "stars". It's been going on for a long time and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon.

I just hope the Kings use the loss as motivation for next season. It was a great series and I wouldn't mind seeing the another hard-fought conference championship next year. Maybe it will be time for a new dynasty...

Posted by: shrike at June 13, 2002 06:51 PM

Galestorm: Atleast you can admit that you have competition. What erks me the most is Laker fans who think that we arent even comparable.

I UNDERSTAND THAT OFFICIATING HAS BEEN BAD, AND PROBABLY WILL CONTINUE TO BE.......BUT Certain stars get certain treament. To me thats complete bull sh*t.

For game 6, THAT WAS ONE OF THE WORST OFFICIATED GAMES IN NBA HISTORY. Forget what Sacramento has to say, forget what LA has to say......LISTEN TO WHAT HUNDREDS OF NEWS ARTICLES AROUND THE COUNTRY HAD TO SAY....an unbiast opinion.

Forget Sacramento & Forget LA....this is about the game. For those of you, like Galestorm who appreciate the game.....not just the team...that is what im talking about. FOr future games to come.

I apologize as well, i get really worked up about sports...probably why i have never voiced my opinion much...and maybe i should stop....who knows.....who cares. The Kings Lakers series is over. The thing i hate is Lakers fans saying we dont have a chance. TYOU FEAR US, PLAIN AND SIMPLE(that being the Lakers team) If you cant admit that.....your not a true basketball fan and your a bandwagon follower.

ANywho, ive said my peace.....and i will say adu!

*sigh* Another New Jersite here. The Nets played a hell of a series. Hell, they even shocked people from NJ who were suppose to be cheering for them. If you'll pardon me, I now have to go root for my Yankess to win their 27th title. And I have an odd feeling it wont be against LA.

And we have a reason there have been no riots when the Devils/Yankees/Giants whoever win: It's called the Mafia.

Go Jersey. Go Sopranos. I rest my case.

Posted by: SpecialAgentFox at June 13, 2002 07:09 PM

Wil, I live in Maryland and the rioting after the Terps win was HUGE. Cars flipping, tear gas spraying, bon fires bonning (hehe)...and GO EFFING TERPS!!!

Posted by: Bozzy at June 13, 2002 07:11 PM

Is Sacto a decent team...sure. But many decent teams are professional chokers when facing the Lakers (meaning they miss their own shots, fouls aside).

Portland, San Antonio, Utah, Phoenix, just to name a western few. Is Sac better the Clyde Drexler portland days? Is Sac better the the twin towers of San Antonio? Better than the Utah Jazz of the 80's? Better than the KJ days of Phoenix?
HELL NO!! Mount up all the white guys, from all corners of the world, of all shades & hues [to join Webber] - and you're still not as good as the above mentioned chronic chokers.
Feel complimented, you're in good company Kings. Just don't lose your head, succumbing to delusions of Cali grandeur.

Posted by: Nightfly at June 13, 2002 07:59 PM

The Kings are nothing more than the Clippers on floppy steriods (with hemoroids) hehe

Posted by: Jack tha Clipper at June 13, 2002 08:01 PM

GW Bush would prefer the Kings to the Lakers.

Nuff said.

The maturity of your posts amazes me. I will visit this site from time to time....but im done posting here. Im sure i wont be missed.

Id rather talk to basketball fans...no matter who you route for than a bunch of morons like COWBOY BOB & his lovely back door bandit assitan Jack the Clipper.

& Nightfly.......you just have no clue what your talking about. Decent, Decent....were so decent it came down to OT in the 7th game. Looking at it....that defines the Lakers as "Decent" as well. I know you will have a hay day with that (hahah cow folk said hay day) saying they have won three rings, yada yada yada..point being...we gave you a run for your money...we even had one of our top guys out. Call us what you will........till next season folks.

Love, Peace and Chicken Greace....

The only money doing any 'running' was ad revenue / ratings for departing NBC! You know, kind of a little 'Hyped' payback for playing ball. NBC got the same kickback in Game #1 (of the Finals) last year.

The Sixers were so awarded, but after the first game they were [like NJ] swept 4-0. FOUR STRAIGHT GAMES!

Who else could step into the Sixer role of last year? Boston? Jersey? So enter the oh-so-ready for primetime cow-Kings. Such a perfect (media-buy) fit.

Next year leave the poison burgers, cowbells, & floppy arguing at home, and please...just bring your 'A' game.

See Ya Next Year!

Seen a lot of NBA games, yeah?

Color me nutty, but don't you think you're all getting just a tad too worked up over A GAME? I understand team loyalty, and I understand love of the game, but JEESH...people verbally abusing each other? I'm at a loss.

CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?

Posted by: meshell at June 13, 2002 10:51 PM

I'm so surprised how immature the people are who participate in riots or support riots after a team wins a championship. It just shows you guys that when the DiamondBacks won the World Series there was not even ONE incident except some people overturning trash cans, but no riots. Let the Lakers win as many championships as they can but the riots have to stop since it's immature and innocent people could get hurt. I'm pretty sure of the DiamondBacks win the World Series this year, no riots will happen. Love the DiamondBacks and Lakers, or hate them, they are the best at what they do.

Posted by: D-backs at June 13, 2002 10:53 PM

Ah, yes. Woohoo for the violence and riots.

Jeeze.

I'm sorry that someone from 64.173.175.106 needed to show everyone in the world how small his pecker was.

I'm sure the folks at PacBell, particularly those responsible for adsl-64-173-175-106.dsl.frsn01.pacbell.net would be saddened if they knew that this genius was using their valuable bandwidth.

Hey Wil -

I'm wondering why you took the course of action you did? Many people post multiple comments on your site, many of whom are quite mean spirited (even toward you) - are these poster "forbidden".

If you so disliked my comments (which have always agreed with you), why not send a quick email instead of posting all my ISP address. That seemed like an invitation for someone to do harm to do my system? And I'm a fan of yours, who defends your Laker??

Why so uncool? How, in particular, did I offend you so? Please let me know.

Thanks
Nightfly

Night fly,

Maybe it was the excessive amounts of posts that you made.....all from which were pretty immature, and might i add, NOT FUNNY. Theres a difference between defending something or someone...and just making a total ass out of yourself and taking it to the next level. If you call "defending" poking fun at "cow folk" continuosly (and please correct me if im addressing the wrong emails with your name...if so I TRULEY APOLOGIZE) and making RUDE JESTURES such as "Bibby and sexual orientation" then maybe you need to look that word up in the good ol dictionary. Your posts were just a waste of space....irrelivant and just plain dumb. Maybe Wil just didnt want to be associated with such distaste.

I personally AM NOT A LAKER FAN, BUT i dont sit there and make fun of the fans...or the things that they do. Your rituals, or whatever you choose to do at your games are your thing. More power to you...thats what makes it fun sometimes. Its called heart...getting into it. If its not your forte...why knock it if its someone elses. Who are you to judge?? You dont know all of us fans...so why stereotype? I think this world has enough as it is. You like who you like, you are entitled to your opinion about your team...as am i. When I look at the Lakers as a team....i think they are amazing...i am ok with admiting that. They beat us..ok...theres some things i dont agree with...i voice that. Im ok to debate it with you...but i wont sit there and say "Shaq likes men" or rediculous things like that. I have my reasons as to why i dont like him...its from things i have seen, heard him say, and or read about. BUT I DONT STEREOTYPE YOUR FAN BASE.

Anywho im sorry i went on a writing tangent..sometimes i forget and can just keep on writing.

Anywho...LOVE THE GAME....

"Six little injuries. When there's a soccer game in Scotland, you're lucky if you leave with that many teeth left in your mouth"

sorry to go off topic a little but hey this was an outrageous thing to write. violence at scottish football (soccer u US people) matches is almost non existant at scottish football games. Even in bygone days (approx 15-20 yrs ago) when it was a problem we were always out done by our english counterparts.
