« weekend. | Main | Not I, Robot? » January 27, 2003My latest gig.Thanks to fark. Comments
Heh...if only that were real. For good or bad, that'd be one hell of a show. Posted by: Joseph at January 27, 2003 11:07 PMI'm glad for you, but I don't think this show will do well. The title "Who's the Ross?" just sounds lame. It's like they used it because Danza was in "Who's the Boss?". They should have found a more catchier title. The concept of the show is just lame. Schwimmer and Danza may have chemistry, but the concept, a postal worker living in Brooklyn with a roommate, is so mediocre. Schwimmer and Danza are both mediocre actors. So, is Applegate. Hopefully, the writing is good. For your sake, I hope it does well. But it does not sound promising. Posted by: jstele at January 27, 2003 11:12 PMTony who? Posted by: Brad at January 27, 2003 11:12 PMQuirky and somewhat unstable, eh? Posted by: Clara at January 27, 2003 11:12 PMFunny stuff...ya gotta love the internet for this stuff. Posted by: RetroRandy at January 27, 2003 11:15 PMNever mind my previous post. I forgot that it was from bluebrick.net. Posted by: jstele at January 27, 2003 11:15 PMHehe. That would be SOME show, wouldn't it?! Posted by: Edie at January 27, 2003 11:17 PMI don't think there is enough Tony Danza on TV these days. Bring on the Tony! Posted by: MagikSpork at January 27, 2003 11:27 PMWil: Thats funny-only I hope BB.com copyrights its idea-some suit might actually take it seriously and try to peddle WTR to the network! Weirder things have happened-who would have predicted trash like the Pimp and the W****-aka Re auditions-remember-no news is good news! Night! Posted by: JTBWRITER at January 27, 2003 11:27 PMHm. I'd wanna see Wil in a "Saved by the Bell" riff. Posted by: Chuggnutt at January 27, 2003 11:31 PMYou know what that show needs? Vampires. And John Stamos. Posted by: Krissbeth at January 27, 2003 11:36 PMBest part of it was that I beat out a Kimmel for the part. Posted by: wil at January 27, 2003 11:38 PMI've changed my mind. It needs werewolves. Definitely werewolves. And John Stamos. :P Posted by: Krissbeth at January 27, 2003 11:42 PMIs this another The Onion-esque site? I haven't heard of it until tonight. Bring on the satire... Thanks Wil! ;) ~Janece Posted by: Janece at January 27, 2003 11:53 PMLOL! Brilliant :) Posted by: mcfoo at January 27, 2003 11:55 PMThe thing is, I could actually *see* you in that role, and stealing the show. Posted by: gomer43 at January 27, 2003 11:56 PMIf you can't beat Kimmels, join them. I hear Jimmy's new show hires co-hosts/sidekicks a week at a time. You should contact ABC and see what it takes to get the gig. Or just drop by Jimmy's office. It's above the El Cap, I'm pretty sure... Posted by: ChuckEye at January 27, 2003 11:58 PMYikes, I'm not sure if that's funny or disturbing. Maybe a little of both. Posted by: Sunidesus at January 28, 2003 12:04 AMHmmm. Not enough about you. That and the spelling error. I bet it was the doing of a Kimmel . . . those seagull-brained, slimy, toads! Posted by: Reena at January 28, 2003 12:16 AMDoing things Side Ways does not fall in submission of normal physics. Just keep on pushing any direction, Build it, and they will come Pulling for You. Posted by: Peter J. Vouaux at January 28, 2003 12:41 AMI miss Kirk Cameron. Posted by: RinnyWee at January 28, 2003 12:54 AMYou'd think they'd know how to spell "Wheaton." But it is a pretty funny piece. -Jocelyn Posted by: jozjozjoz at January 28, 2003 01:01 AMYou know, I can see you in that role, too... Imagine: Wil in a Postal uniform, getting Kramer-esque type applause whenever he's first seen on the show, kinda weird (translates to: free-thinking, sacastic, rebel-within-the-system)... Wil, it's a role just made for you! Posted by: ghost_who_walks at January 28, 2003 01:44 AMNow that would be cool! i was taken in by it, cos i love friends, seriously though, sounds good! Posted by: becks at January 28, 2003 02:39 AMGreat, now I am seeing Wil with Kramer-esque hair. I didn't need that just before bed. Posted by: Katie at January 28, 2003 03:00 AMFrom TV Guide.com: Cast: Wil Wheaton, Maureen Flannigan, Deborah Raffin, Isaac Hayes, John Reilly, Pamela Reed, Richard Grieco Oooooohhh, thats the one with Chef! Coolest! Also here http://us.imdb.com/Title?0346639 , not much detail, as it's still listed as "in production". I just know it'll be ages before I get to see it Down Under... Posted by: ghost_who_walks at January 28, 2003 03:40 AMHold me closer Tony Danza......count the headlights on the highway........ Posted by: spork at January 28, 2003 04:57 AMWow! THE TONY DANZA! Will is now witch daughter be guest starring? Posted by: valis at January 28, 2003 05:20 AMJeez, when I saw that, my inital reaction was something along the lines of "Holy crap, Wil got the I, Robot part!" Please, Wil, don't do that again unless you mean it! Posted by: PeteyBoy at January 28, 2003 05:21 AMJust remember: There's always work at the Post Office. That is all. Posted by: MrsVeteran at January 28, 2003 06:44 AMfrom the BlueBrick article: "Tony Danza .. has a very loyal gay following." Does he know this? Posted by: Tony at January 28, 2003 06:54 AMI know it's satire... still, I have to wonder if Tony Danza does, in fact, have a very loyal gay following. I'd bet he could work up some sort of lounge act to take advantage of that. Posted by: Tom at January 28, 2003 07:01 AMAND you'd get to work with Christina Applegate! If it were real. Shee-it, if it were real, David Schwimmer would get pushed to the side, and Tony Danza or Wil would become the star of the show. Posted by: John at January 28, 2003 07:17 AMHey, nice stuff, but why not some words about the (unfortunately) upcoming war against Iraq ? Posted by: Luca at January 28, 2003 07:17 AMI hope you people that are congratulating (or berating) Wil for accepting a spot in this show realize that that article isn't true. If you look at the bottom it says "Click here to return to the main page for more satire". Geez, some people will believe anything. Ryan, What you mean is it "Jumped the Shark". Heh. I love this site. I love the fact that they have a whole section devoted to Ted McGinley and how he's the kiss of death to any show he appears on. Ted should be another postal worker on "Who's the Ross" Posted by: Tim at January 28, 2003 08:17 AMQuit teasing! the internet is good for 2 thing: comedy and porn People, this is not true ok? As it says in the bottom, it's a satire. Don't go telling your friends to await the new sitcom starring Tony Danza and David Schwimmer. Posted by: camfan at January 28, 2003 08:51 AMRyan, It worked for Tommy Lee Jones in Men In Black II! rofl Posted by: Foxychik at January 28, 2003 08:54 AMdid I say 2 things, I meant 3. the thrid being the internet is good for idiots, which wee can see here that they are not in short supply Posted by: Geoff at January 28, 2003 08:56 AMThis show would be fine, until Rick Berman starts producing it. Posted by: spam at January 28, 2003 09:57 AMA quickie note to the "Oh, god! This is a satire, you idiots!" people: We know. We're playing along. Shame on you for not realizing it. ;) :P Posted by: Krissbeth at January 28, 2003 10:29 AMGreetings Will, *LOL* omg that is hilarious. and you would look hot in a postal uniform, wil. speaking of, has wil ever been to burning man?? just wondering... Posted by: sailortilt at January 28, 2003 11:02 AMTony Danza steals Wil's idea for an electric grill, wackiness ensues. Featuring a guest appearance by Rudy Guiliani as Wil's mom. Posted by: Fred Fowler at January 28, 2003 11:13 AMThat would be a great show. At least they didn't cast you as Tony Danzas love interest! Posted by: Chris at January 28, 2003 11:47 AMChecked out jumpedtheshark.com Tim, thx for the link.Site looks pretty sweet. I'll check it out in depth after work. Posted by: Ryan_W at January 28, 2003 12:34 PMim so happy for you Wil :) i love the show Friends but i wasn't so sure about the spin off but now i can't wait, good luck! Posted by: Ashley at January 28, 2003 12:57 PMMan, I didn't know it wasn't real until I got to the bottom. Posted by: Pat at January 28, 2003 01:11 PMYou know, Wil, this actually could work. Remember how Robin Williams was always cast as the same kind of character - always way over the top, super-happy yet still approachable, loveable, and sensitive? Well, he wanted to play a bad guy, and said so a couple of years ago. Look at him now, he's got this whole new character set he gets to play, and although I have yet to see any of his bad-guy movies, he sure looks convincing. Why can't uncle Willy do the same? Granted, you probably haven't been pigeonholed as much as Robin was, but I could see you getting into the sociopathic, unstable, interesting-but-in-a-frightening-way kind of role. Is there much call for such a role? Aw, who cares? It'd be fun, right? If you and the wife are in Canada anytime, drop by and we'll discuss it all over a beer. :) Posted by: mr.ska at January 28, 2003 01:17 PMCongrats Wil. Even though I was never an avid watcher of friends. I'm sure it is a great show. Plus I just found out on your site that this show will have spinoff. Since you are going to be in the show I will definitely watch the show "Who is Ross"? Sorry about you not getting I,Robot. Proably it was meant to be. Something better will come along. Deejay Glad to hear the good news about the TV show. Posted by: Deejay at January 28, 2003 01:29 PMhey people, have you actually read the show? why are people STILL giving real congrats? I would have thouhgt the like 15 comments making fun of the first people to do so would have had effect, but I guess I over estimated the human intellect Posted by: Geoff at January 28, 2003 03:47 PM"Who's the Ross?"...is Diana driving drunk again? 'Wil Wheaton will round out the cast as Schwimmer’s quirky, somewhat unstable co-worker in the post office' That's Hilarious! Posted by: Tiana at January 28, 2003 04:59 PMIt seems that some people spend to much time watching TV and playing on the internet.
geoff, stop being a dick. It's childish. I don't want to ban your IP. Posted by: wil at January 28, 2003 05:18 PMToo FUNNY! And your right Wil, life is too short we must embrace crap like this and roll with it! Keep the laughs coming I a say! Posted by: Marie at January 28, 2003 10:33 PMMan, if it wasn't with David Schwimmer, i would have SWORE it was real. That would be something to see. jumptheshark is a great site, the only sad thing is I really liked married with children before Ted McGinley killed it. He, and that little blond haired kid they 'found'. Posted by: Erin at January 29, 2003 09:26 AMhey, i reckon you should write a gushing accepatnce speech of the part, and how grateful you are for the opportunity, send it back to them ... ;) Rels x Posted by: Relly at January 29, 2003 03:55 PMBrooklyn Postal? Posted by: lurch at January 31, 2003 07:50 PMBrooklyn Postal? Posted by: lurch at January 31, 2003 07:50 PMI hope the show does well!! I'll watch it! Wil you were so cool in Star Trek, you were my favorite character. i liked it how you were really smart but good looking too. entering the teens myself around then it was so cool to have your character as a role model. good luck with the new show! Posted by: M at February 3, 2003 01:47 PMStill a bit new to the web.....so glad that you have a voice and a streak of defiance! Good luck with all, Wil. I was actually searching for Wesley Crusher jokes (in a silly Trek Mood) and got blown away. And all this at the Australian Government's expense....oh well.
