i emerged in london rain

Lots of people have written emails in the past few days asking about Dancing Barefoot and when the next printing will be done. I guess some of you wanted it for a holiday gift, but didn't grab it before Monolith's stock ran out.

I don't have answer that question right now, but I just discovered a couple places online where you can still get copies of the book: Warehouse23 and Powell's.

I've just been informed that Warehouse23 and Powell's are sold out. Currently (November 25), You've made my book sit atop the Bestseller lists in Literature and Sci-Fi! Woo! Thanks for your support, everyone!

Yo Joe!

Wow. I just checked Uncle Willie's auction for an autographed copy of Dancing Barefoot, and the price is up to $405.00! Damn, I am glad I got in on the ground floor with this! I have two autographed copies (one personalized), and I am so glad I decided... [Read More]

My Post Office has still not located my copy.

Just ordered DB from Powell's today, which I found on Froogle.com. For anyone who may not know, Froogle is a search engine for stuff you can buy, powered by the geniuses at google. It's still in beta, but it is a good tool for finding places that sell what you want. Check it out, I highly recommend it. I can now look forward to reading the book on my lovely Thanksgiving car ride next week.

Thanks Uncle Willie!

I'm a little slow. I only just now realized that you were titling all these posts today with 80's song lyrics....and now I'm singing every damn one of them!! Evil! (but I love "Metro"!)

Yeah, Wil?

Oh, you meant...nevermind.

Doh! Powell's, now I remember. I was too lazy to check the archives for the name of one of the places that carries DB. I have officially purchased a copy. Whew. I feel better now. It's a good day.

Heh, heh. You're a little slow? I didn't get it until I read your post!

and you were waiting there
swimming through apologies

sorry....

I remember searching for the perfect words
I was hoping you might change your mind
I remember a soldier sleeping next to me
riding on the Metro

Thanks for quoting such a classic, Wil.

Heh... I live like a mile away from Warehouse 23.

Haha - I just about snorted OJ on my monitor when I got to the metro quote. I did this LAMP front end for my icecast stream and somebody had requested metro a little earlier. It just happened to get to the first chorus just as I read the entry title.

Woohoo! I snagged one!

You just enlightened me this morning! I clicked to comment so I could ask why you quoted a System of a Down song when you just recently shunned them... But then, the other comments said it was an 80's song!?! 80's?!? Is there an 80's song I don't know!? Indeed... Berlin, eh? Who knew? Evidently, everyone but me!

Long story short (too late!) System of a Down does a cover for this song on the 'Dracula 2000' soundtrack... In case anyone cares.

The rewrite is great... but forgive me for inquiring -

Why Step kids?

I mean, yes they are indeed your stepkids... but with the entries of them as of late - the one about going to the Car Show and such - I mean, they're your kids. I mean, I'm sure you don't mean it coldly, but it kind of comes off like it, a weird resentment that maybe only kids with divorced parents can understand.

Just an Idea, I'm sure you didn't mean it in any duragotry sense.

Can't wait to get my hands on a copy, thanks for writin' Wil!

And just remember, Powell's is a union shop (ILWU with an IWW caucus), so its always good to shop there and support good jobs.

Posted by: Drew at November 19, 2003 08:14 PM

I just snagged a copy from Powell's. Thanks for putting that up there, Wil. I was debating whether or not to wait for the second printing, but hey, it's gonna be one of the many Christmas gifts to myself this year.
