I admit it. Wil Wheaton turned me on to Mr. Picassohead. You've got to check this thing out. I piddled with it for 10 or 15 minutes and came up with a pretty fair self-portrait. Those who knew me during [Read More]

Sweet. And how timely. I just saw a bunch of Picassos on tour from the MOMA while I was in Houston last weekend. It was quite awesome.

Yours is nice too, but you are no DANZA.

I know what I'm going to play around with tonight at work! Thanks for the link Wil!

Posted by: Kelyn at December 5, 2003 11:34 AM

Ok, that was just too cool. And like speedie316 I'm gonna annoy everyone with it. It's a great time-waster for those of us who were deprived of Mr. Potato head as a kid. ;)

Posted by: Mandi-Bear at December 5, 2003 11:39 AM

Someone should do this with Dali or Alberto Vargas.

Posted by: Fred at December 5, 2003 12:09 PM

Very spiffy.

Posted by: Divana at December 5, 2003 12:20 PM

That just reminds me of that SNL skit with Ben Stiller talking about the "Buttload of Picasso's down at the Bellagio Hotel"

Hehe.

Posted by: Drew at December 5, 2003 12:30 PM

Wil, I think you need more stuff to keep you busy... You are very bad, now go get some more writing done on that book.

Posted by: Jennifer at December 5, 2003 12:53 PM

Wow, yours look so much cooler than mine. I need to try using color more effectively.

Posted by: Mugazi at December 5, 2003 12:55 PM

I think that when I am not supposed to be working I will have to check this out. This working from home thing is very distracting on occation. I turned off all the messanger services but still I am not working like I should. Grr. :) Okay get food then work. They play with this lol.

Acting and writing are definitely your strengths but your second attempt is a huge improvement. (and um... better than mine) As always... Cool Wil.

Posted by: Geoff at December 5, 2003 01:10 PM

Heh, nothing like a bit of addictive web entertainment on a Friday night. I'm going to regret clicking on that link...

Posted by: Kirsten at December 5, 2003 01:12 PM

I agree with Fred, this DEFINITELY needs to be done with Dali!

Posted by: Speedie316 at December 5, 2003 01:17 PM

Mr Picasso Head does indeed, rule. Once again you have performed an important public service by turning us on to the groovy toys you find. Hats off to you, sir!

This may be as fresh to you as last week's TV guide, but you might get a kick out of it.

Wil, your first attempt should be titled...
"No...wire...hangers...EVER!" It made me giggle.
And Mandi-Bear, while Mr. Potato Head was cool, I had the kind you needed a REAL potato for. It had many pointy, unsafe for children, parts. Ah, the good old days...
Now I must go and try my hand at a picture myself...

Posted by: ambeart at December 5, 2003 06:01 PM

ROFLMAO Wil....I love the NSFW one. Got me cackling up the wazoo here.

Gotta love it...oh man...*can't stop laughing*

Alright, here's my first one. This is too fun. Some in the gallery are really impressive! I think if you give people an intuitive creative outlet that folks naturally want to get their art on.

Posted by: Kirsten at December 8, 2003 02:11 PM

Hi Wil,

Wow, I needed that! This is a waaay wonderful tool to use when anyone is creatively stuck. It shook out the cobwebs and got my inspiration going again, though my favorite part was seeing what everyone else did with the same basic ingredients...kind of like the typewriters and monkeys bit only with color, form and line. It makes me wish I could meet my fellow pic-artists and find out what they were thinking when they made their canvases. (Wah! there's a geeky Trek joke in there somewhere.....)

Thanks for the cool toy!

I've been trying to flashify cubism for quite a while. this link here was my first-- and last online attempt:

Dear Wil:

I too am a huge fan of Mr. Picassohead. Isn't it ironic though, that Mr.Picassohead's creators and sponsors, Ruder Finn, a bigtime PR agency are getting less major media coverage than Atom Films, an animation studio. Well, as PT B arnum said: "no one ever went broke understimating the taste of the American public"

I liked your character on Star Trek, better than the one on The Weakest Link, btw. I really like your character now, though.
