stopped short of removingthe bladder due to
finding the cancer has spread into the lyph
system... he starts testing today as to hom much it's spread and what "kemo" he'll need to start

I'm really happy for Kris. Cancer runs on both sides of my family: one uncle and both of my grandfathers have died from cancer and cancer-related complications. My aunt is fighting it now, and one of my cousins fought and won against Leukemia. It's always a relief when someone pulls through.

Aside: I saw a commercial last night. W. F. Shatner was being sacked as the spokesperson for Direct something or other (don't remember the product, sorry...) They had found someone better suited to them, and I thought "Oh God, please let it be Wil Wheaton." It was Mr. Nemoy. But it would have been funny if it HAD been you!

Anyway. Enough on the tangent...

Celebratory pledge going out this weekend; thank God today's payday. :)

One of our volunteers at work stayed cancer-free for 16 years; she referred to her latest bout of chemo as "the 16,000 mile lube job". ;) Hopefully Kris has one of those maintenance-free jobs and won't ever have to go in again!

That's great news man! My dad is still in the hospital, they had to remove a benign mass from the lower left lobe of his lung. They actually ended up removing the whole thing. He'll be alright, but I just wanted to say that I feel for ya homes.

Thank you, thank you for posting that and keeping us in touch. Thank you God for bringing Kris through this, and all the doctors for doing so well with her. This is just what I needed today, a little hope for the cancer world.

I just found out last night that we're going to lose my uncle to cancer in a few months. They're not even going to try treatment, he's so far gone. When I was 8, I lost one of my best friends to leukemia, and I decided then that when I was grown up and had a real job, the Canadian Cancer Society was going to be my charity of choice. Even then, I gave $5 or $10 each year to the fundraiser run my school did in his memory. (For a 10-year-old in the 80s, that was a lot!) Since then, my aunt, grandfather, and another friend have all joined the "survivors" group. (The friend still has one more hurdle until he can be declared cancer-free, but he's been doing amazingly well.)

Each time you posted an update on Kris, I held my breath. I was SO glad to see this morning that she's been declared cancer-free. Congratulations to her, and good for you, Wil and Anne, for all fund-raising you're doing for the cause. We need to get rid of this disease for once and for all.

Whoa, I'm waaaaaaaaaaay down on this list... oh well... ROCK ON KRIS! WOOOOOOOOOO! :D

Canadians should note that it is now possible to donate to the Canadian Cancer society via PetroCan when you gas up (in blocks of 5000 points). It's nothing out of your pocket and it does add up over a year.

I'm glad to hear it. Both my mother (who has since passed away) and uncle have had colorectal cancer; both came through their operations fine and cancer free. I'm glad to hear she's out of the woods for at least a couple years. :)

As a survivor of Hodgekin's disease (9 years - yay me!!), I have an idea of what Kris was going through. Having friends and family beside you, supporting you the way you and Anne supported her, is essential to one's recovery. They are constant reminders of why one has to keep fighting.

From all the survivors around the country - thank you for bringing attention to this organization and for all the work you and Anne have done.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEETNEEEESSSSSSS!!!! BIG YAY AND HOORAY FOR KRIS!!! I know Im late responding to all of this stuff.. My son was in the hospital for 4 days (thurs-monday).. So I had some catching up to do. But that is wonderful to hear. I lost a friend last august to advanced t-cell leukemia. It hit him hard and fast and he was gone within 2 months after the diagnosis. So I am very happy to hear that your friend is beating the boots off that nasty disease!! Keep it up Kris!! We are all pulling for you!!

I enjoy reading your posts, but when you say: "...how much your love, prayers, mojo, tantric healing waves, and crazy voodoo monkey magic have helped her at this time" don't you see the lack of intellectual integrity? I'm so glad Kris' cancer is gone, but do you really think my "mojo," etc. had anything to do with it? do you really think that's how the universe operates. I'm expecting far more logical, realistic thinking from you.
