Hey, what's Sean's book about?

It's mostly about LOTR, but so far he's talking about how he got there. It's weird to read these stories that I remember experiencing second-hand, filled with people who I either knew, or knew of.

I just listened to your WHOLE reading at Gnomedex (I am at home with a cold today). I really don't know what Gnomedex is, and maybe this is why I am so confused... Why weren't they laughing more? I was laughing, and I don't think it's just the cough syrup talking.

Judging by the comments on Amazon I think you're better off doing your own book signings.

Sean's book was very interesting read. I finished it in about two days.

I definitely agree, you should look into doing some book events with him. I had a few friends at his first signing tonight in NYC, and they said it went very well.

And too bad you didn't make it about 12 more pages before you took your break. Because at that point, your name gets a mention. :)

You know, since now the both of you are writing, I want "Toy Soldiers: Behind the Scenes". Hm... maybe, maybe not... You could then write the chapter Wesley-haters wanted for years, "And then they shot my character..." (So sad that I refused to finish the movie the first time I watched it.)

I just saw Toy Soldiers on TV a few days ago and was reminded of one of your co-stars, Shawn Phelan, who died in a car accident.

Yeah, Wil... I'm interested in knowing whether you ever DID actually pull the number out of the jacket pocket before beginning his book.

Have you heard from him since you published your books? You wrote some extremely kind things about him, and I was curious if Sean had any reaction to making a cameo in your writings.

Thats a great idea. I didn't know Sean had a book out.. I guess he will have you to thank for a few referral sales. ;)

If you and Sean do end up arranging a joint signing tour, I'll be the happiest reader alive.

but isn't it great to know how we still can surprise ourselves...

I'll tell you all about "Toy Soldiers" behind the scenes. The wall they built to join two existing buildings to create a quad cost over a million dollars to build. At any given time there were at least two helicopters hovering over our trailers. The Days Inn is a great place to stay... but the only fun was crossing the street (at risk of life and limb) and going to K-mart/Krogers to shop and fool around with merchandise. We really didn't notice it turn into "a bunch of guys stuffed in a dorm room in their underwear" until it was too late. (It was hot!) Also, and I think Sean and Wil will agree, those were fought-after roles for all of us, and we appreciated being there with each other. Lou and Denholm, R. Lee and Dan were all great hero's, role models and friends. And that's all I have to say about that.

P.S. Hey Wil, where does the pool furniture belong?

For those of you who might want to see Sean this weekend, he's going to be at the Boston Museum of Science. There's a LoTR exhibit there that ends on Oct. 24. This weekend, Sean will be doing a booksigning (the store there has plenty of copies of his book). My hubby and I were there this past weekend- I would have liked to have gone when Sean was there, but my band is opening up for Rick Springfield that night!! :) So, Wil, now you have to have a co-booksigning with Sean, just so I can meet you both. :) Call him RIGHT NOW, and let us know what he says.

I think a dual book signing is a great idea. I believe he's doing the LA scene in early November. I'm volunteering all day at the Boston Museum of Science book signing this weekend (I'd arrive early if you're coming!). Wonder if I can work that idea into conversation. Perhaps if I ask him what the last book he read was, 'cause if he asks me it's Just a Geek! :)

I would travel serious miles at great personal expense to have the opportunity to have the both of you sign your books for me. Did I mention serious miles - Cleveland, Ohio serious. Keep us posted. (I already have the picture you donated to My Cat Ranch(Thank you very much.) But I really need your autograph on my copy of Dancing Barefoot and Just a Geek to round out my collection !)

Most people don't know this, but when we made the movie, I spent more time hanging out with Keith than anyone else. I was just 18, and trying on my Big Boy pants for the first time in my life, and Keith was right there for all the cool stuff . . . and most of the lame stuff, too.

Remember Dead Milkmen? The Naming of Yogurt? The Speeding Ticket on the way to DC? Slot cars?

We had some really good times behind the scenes, but we also took the acting aspect of it very seriously.

Hey, we should get together with a minidisc recorder, and have a conversation about Toy Soldiers. That would be cool.

I totally forgot all about the Dead Milkmen, I think I tossed that t-shirt I bought. One other thing I forgot about was the bad guys taking us one by one and trying to scare the sh*t out of us. I just played along and they quit. And yes, I meant hot temperature wise. So many cool memories on that film. I have to admit, of the three times we've worked together, this was the most time we spent on one project. And it was cool as hell to hang out with a fellow geek. As cool as I tried to be in the 90's, I was never hip. Trust me. I was always looking for some edge that didn't exist in me up until now. I'm super edgy. Wil, you have always been an independent thinker. You never caved to the evil peer pressure I exerted, and I respect that. Remember our band?!?!?!?!? Definitely a cool time. I am still just as jealous as Sean was with "Stand by Me". I never did a movie that was that well written, shot, or acted. It's still one of my favorite movies, and I'll watch it anytime. Hey Wil, sorry if I seem like I'm trolling your site, but I love to read it, and I check it out every day. It's always a big dissapointment when you don't have a new post. And since we never get a chance to see each other except on the set or auditions, I'ts very cool to be able to catch up on what's going on with you and yours. Mojo to the whole bunch.

Honestly you should think about documenting more of your appearances maybe even a DVD (like an evening with Kevin smith) Your anecdotes were hilarious and touching good stuff all around.

I would LOOOVE to hear some commentary for TS! Can you believe that when it came out on video my cousin Marc had it and refused to let me watch it? He said it was a "boy movie" (he also said DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince's 'Summertime' album was only for boys... )and I wasn't allowed to watch it! A few years later I found out that he had crushes on all of you guys and liked the infamous underwear scene! LOL! Who doesn't? Nice undies, guys! ;)
I really think it's awesome that you're gonna call Sean up, Wil. I am in the middle of reading his book as well, and just can't get into it. Maybe I shouldn't start reading at 1:30 am.

Seems to me a Costco holiday book-signing tour in the Trekkie-laden and geek-filled SF Bay Area would be lucrative, too. Just a thought.

A local B&N had Sean's book out early so I bought it and read it within a couple of days. It was very engrossing. I don't agree with most of the criticism on Amazon.

I met Sean at a signing on Saturday and he was such a sweet guy.

Oh, one of the girls I was standing in line with was a big Toy Soldiers fan (me too!) and I believe she planted another seed with Sean about doing a book tour with you.
