« lost at sea | Main | just a geek's first newspaper review! » December 15, 2004last chance to see What's My LineIt's Wednesday, and that means it's time for the weekly reminder that I'll be appearing at the Acme Comedy Theatre tonight for What's My Line? Live on Stage! As always, the show starts at 8, and more details can be found at j.keith.net, including a two-for-one discount. This is the last show we're doing for this season, so if you've been putting it off, tonight would be a good time to come out and see us. You could try to come out next week, I suppose, but the show will be 95% - 100% less funny. Your personal funny will vary according to how willing you are to stare at an empty theatre. Thanks to a TON of writing, the restarting of my exercise program, and a melatonin, I've actually slept straight through the last two nights, and I haven't woken with the headache and stiff neck. Thank you to everyone who shared in my insomnia pain. Your advice and sympathy is very much appreciated. Comments
Saweet,First Post! Hey Wil! I cant make it tonight, could you just send me a couple of funnies via e-mail? Thank's redrhinox@hotmail.com Posted by: redrhino at December 15, 2004 10:16 AMSO, I bought the book, nice stuff there on the back cover. Can't go see the show, mainly b/c I'm in Bloomington, IN. BUT, I thought that the book so far is great! Thanks for helping a geek be understood by his family (a little). OH! Also: Mentioned you in a post: #11081213 Slashdot I might actually be able to get there tonight. Depends on when we're done filming. *runs fingertips together* Ve shall see! -Chris Posted by: Chris H. at December 15, 2004 10:20 AMDamn I wished I lived on the west coast so I could see your shows! Glad to hear you are sleeping better - see what a good housecleaning of the brain can do?! Posted by: sharfa at December 15, 2004 10:49 AMI've been in the insomnia lane for the last 6 months, so I know how frusturating it can be. It is good that you are finding ways to sleep again. Take it easy. Posted by: Jay at December 15, 2004 10:50 AMWil, If I was out in California right now, I'd be making the trip to come see and hopefully meet you, but alas, I am in Arizona and won't be in Cali till next week for Christmas. I suffer from insomnia myself, so I know exactly what you've been going through. I am glad you are feeling and doing much better! Loved you on "My Coolest Years", by the way...hence I now have an icon on my Live Journal that features you with the Geekicus line...my tribute to you :) Happy Holidays to you and your family :) Posted by: April at December 15, 2004 10:59 AMGlad to hear you are feeling better, Wil. If you need any advice on running a marathon, I'm happy to help (I did my 9th this Fall, which was also the 9th time I qualified for Boston). When is your next marathon? Posted by: synchronicity at December 15, 2004 11:05 AMWil, Great, there is another Evan. but I'm the special one, my birth certificate spells it Evin :) I would come down to see you tonight Wil, but alas my Mustang is in the shop, getting a door repaired from having been broken into a couple months ago (little jerks took my stereo and system, but left the 3000+ in CD's and my two bowling balls which are worth over 700). You're still doing the Love Machine show arent you? And that is happening every weekend right? And as long as you'll be back for next season of of "Whats My Line?", then I'll be happy :) BY THE WAY, If any one of you HAVE NOT seen this show, you're missing out! It's pretty damn funny! Especially when Wil goes all Geek on everything with his note pad and pencil, and starts going through a brilliantly played out process of repeating every tiny detail that has transpired... before he disqualifies himself because he knows the Mystery Guest! It's truly a sight to see. Break a leg tonight Wil! -Evin Posted by: Evin at December 15, 2004 11:23 AMNo bowling this week, so I'll be there tonight. :) Posted by: alan at December 15, 2004 11:48 AMWil Save lead me to here. Ordered the book. Amazing to see someone I watched on TV as a teenager, turnout to be a gamer. Who Knew? *shrugs*
I am glad to hear that you are rested up Wil have fun at the show tonight and wish your family a Merry Chirstmas for me. Posted by: Dan L at December 15, 2004 12:18 PMI am glad to hear that you are rested up Wil have fun at the show tonight and wish your family a Merry Chirstmas for me. Posted by: Dan L at December 15, 2004 12:19 PMWil, So glad you're feeling better, sweetie. I love you, baby, but I'm not driving eight hours to see anyone this time of year. When are you coming back up here, btw? Posted by: Cookie at December 15, 2004 12:33 PMMan, I wish I could teleport out to CA to see your show, 'cuz I am in need of some serious funny! Posted by: Tim Van Bruggen at December 15, 2004 12:53 PMDAMN!!
Please update us how was it. Thanx! Posted by: Morelos Barros at December 15, 2004 01:10 PM(((Hugs))) on getting sleep and being productive. Remember, when you're up late at night, you're not the only guy in the world not sleeping. as for ACME... If i start walking now, from Pittsburgh, I might be there in time for the start of next season. Better get my runnin' shoes. Posted by: Tammy at December 15, 2004 01:21 PMHmmm... I've woken up the past few days with a headache and a stiff neck... but that's because I spent the weekend in VEGAS!!!! We missed you at the World Poker Bloggers Tour Las Vegas Holiday Classic... and we're hoping you'll make the next one. It was such a blast, plans are already in the works for the next one!!!!!!! Posted by: CJ at December 15, 2004 01:45 PMCongrats on starting to pull things back together. Honestly, you've been racing here to there and thence elsewhere for so many months, I'm surprised you didn't explode! Here's to continued funny, better sleep, and always happiness. BobP Posted by: BobP at December 15, 2004 02:14 PMPerhaps you should use a line from Stanley Spadowski here: "You know all you people that like to wait till the last minute? Well, this is the last minute!" Knock 'em dead. Posted by: Erbo at December 15, 2004 02:14 PMOh, now you're just rubbing it in that when I get to Cali next week when the show won't be on. I see how it goes, Wheaton. ^_^ Posted by: Trisha Lynn at December 15, 2004 02:25 PMMan... Kansas sucks, middle of nowhere and way too far from the funny. Lemme tell ya, we could definitely use some serious funny, for under the shiny holiday wrapper lies the cold dark evil of finals... Law School finals. *cue Empire music* Anyways, kick ass and make em laugh til they pee themselves! Posted by: Matt at December 15, 2004 02:56 PMafter all that talk about sleepless nights I decided to call in sick to work and sleep until 2pm. I'd see they show, but I am on the other coast. If you ever do a show down this way (boston) I would be there. Maybe do something with Improv Asylum people here? Whatcha workin' on? Posted by: Veronica Knight at December 15, 2004 07:20 PMGlad to hear you're sleeping better! Too bad the melatonin never worked for me. I hope you don't have to keep on it. I would hazard to guess that the return to the workout was a bigger factor... Jenny "Your personal funny will vary according to how willing you are to stare at an empty theatre." LMAO... Sounds fun to me... But then again, I'm an enigma... \:o) Posted by: Kimberly at December 15, 2004 11:34 PMbummer, i live in australia. no chance. although, for comical value the whole flight over for next weeks show, with an empty theatre would be funny. Hey Wil, Nice story about you today in the Oregonian. You are a crack up. Thanks for the entertainment! :) Posted by: Junniper at December 16, 2004 08:33 AMWil, I have a question, Is the last show of the season any different backstage than say, a mid season performance? I mean, the season is ending, is the feeling in the backstage different, or are you all celebrating with bottles of champange and a catered buffet? OR, is it just like any other show since you know that you'll be back next season? (furthermore, when does the new seasn start up?) -Evin Posted by: Evin at December 16, 2004 09:38 AMFor interested folks -- http://www.oregonlive.com/entertainment/ Follow that link to see the feature published by The Oregonian this morning. --Joni the Entertainment Producer, OregonLive.com Posted by: Joni at December 16, 2004 11:07 AMNice spread in the Oregonian... I just got a copy emailed to my by my wife. I was surprised when I read that you were considering moving up here to Portland, though. Wouldn't that put you a bit out of reach to most of the acting world for your voice over work and other tv/movie apperances? Not that we wouldn't love to have yah... I think that the packed house readings you've had at Powells should tell yah that! Congrats on the great interview and come on up and grow moss with the rest of us Ducks! Posted by: DrGrizzley at December 16, 2004 02:10 PMOh yeah... and just for those of you who went to that "other" school I'll amend my last statement to read: "Congrats on the great interview and come on up and grow moss with the rest of us Beavers!" Beavers... Posted by: DrGrizzley at December 16, 2004 02:12 PM |
