"The JL421 Badonkadonk is a completely unique, extremely rare land vehicle and battle tank. [snip] Standard drive is an air-cooled, 6hp Tecumseh gasoline (unleaded only) engine, with centrifugal clutch, giving the Donk a top speed of 40 mph. This vehicle is not licensed for use on public roads, and is intended as a recreational vehicle only. 1 person recommended Star Wars A New Hope 12" Figure: Obi-Wan Kenobi Tatooine Encounter instead of JL421 Badonkadonk Land Cruiser/Tank" Be sure to read the user reviews, for maximum enjoyment. I gotta get me one! Posted by: Mark at January 20, 2005 12:20 PMHey! Going way off-topic. Got Just a Geek for X-Mas and loved it. Nicely done, Wil. You have some great talent. Also.. catching up in my scifi fix, and they mentioned JAG in the scifi-weekly.. Wil, thanks for giving me a big laugh on Black Thursday. This seems a better choice for Iraq, but then again, all those bozos in L.A. who currently drive a Hummer will want one to cruise the freeways. Kroeme Posted by: Kroeme at January 20, 2005 12:31 PMThat is one sweet ride! I don't know who I expect to see first: Ben Kenobi or Johnny Knoxville and Wee Man. Thanks for some afternoon hilarity, Wil! Posted by: Frank Black at January 20, 2005 12:35 PMI'm a guest on your site for quite a while now, and on more than one occasion you have provided me (among other things) with a big laugh to brighten up my working hours. This one was a real gem. The "See more pictures" section adds to the maximum enjoyment as well. Hey Wil! I know this is a tad off topic, but I just had to point out that you'd been the subject of a GUComic. http://www.gucomics.com/ Posted by: theFrog at January 20, 2005 01:10 PMI seem to remember a Tracy Morgan SNL sketch where he referred to a lady having a "Badonkadonk" butt. I didn't realize at the time that her but was, in fact, a $20,000 tank. Posted by: Wearsch at January 20, 2005 01:10 PMI was just looking at naodesign.net and the Badonkadonk isn't the only oddball design they've created. Check out the F451 Flamethrower, the PneumatiPak or the Nellophone Posted by: Wearsch at January 20, 2005 01:19 PMBut, but, but...it says the shipping is only $14.99! How can they ship that thing for so little? Posted by: Kiwi Carlisle at January 20, 2005 01:23 PMWhat? No love for the Hello Kitty ferrari? Posted by: Mike at January 20, 2005 01:23 PMWil, I think this one's for real. If it _is_ a prank, it be supremely well-executed. http://www.naodesign.net/info.htm Posted by: Brian Little at January 20, 2005 01:44 PMlooks legit... looks like they're selling off a burning man art/design project... NAO designs is an industrial design company - http://www.naodesign.net/ Posted by: Joe at January 20, 2005 01:50 PMToo bad it's not licenced for road use, it'd make my hour drive to work that much more interesting! (as well as trying to get the road tax done for it, oh such fun to confuse the poor post office witches) Posted by: Kevin at January 20, 2005 02:04 PMIt's a good job I just got a job - I might be able to afford one of those now. I've been wanting one my whole life... Actually, the reason that I came here is partly due to that formerly mentioned job... I had my first ever Job Interview today (the relevance of which will be revealed soon!). I knew I had to go out and find a job (I'm only 16, and still in school) because my best friend moved to Australia in the summer and I promised I'd go and visit her by January 2006! The ironic thing is... the store that offered me an interview - I hadn't actually written to! The postman sent the letter to the wrong store - I was hoping for a job nextdoor. Must have been fate! Anyways, I have a lucky locket that I fill with a picture. Now this picture is usually a picture that I've printed off because it has some kind of resonance with me personally. For instance, today, I printed off a picture of you and River Phoenix in Stand By Me. I only watched the movie last week, and I was completly blown away by it. I've always been fascinated with male relationships (and I say that in a non-homosexual way... if you get my drift). It's just the way, that unlike females who show their affection often and emphatically - men are quite resevred when it comes to that. But the relationship between Gordy and Chris in the film just completely caught me. I was entralled by it. It was beautiful to watch. So I printed off a picture of the two of you. Why? Because it inspires me. Inspires me to become... a better friend I suppose. And if having my best friend move to the other side of the world hasn't taught me anything - it's to be a better friend. Friendship is something I hold higher than anything. So I want to thank you. Thank you for being so inspiring, taking residence in my locket, and helping me get a job which will bring me closer to my best friend. And thank you, finally, for being a fellow geek. What other way is there to be? Posted by: Holly at January 20, 2005 02:16 PMIt's the listing of the features that has me hooked; plush interior, indeed. Posted by: microveldt at January 20, 2005 02:20 PMWow, I think my 4' 10" self would look really cool in that thing. (HaHaHa) I think it could be real, but who knows? Anyway Wil, below I am including an E Mail I sent you as I am not sure if you got it since I did not encrypt it. READ AND ENJOY! Dear Wil, Yep... that looks like a Burning Man art car to me. It looks like the pictures were taken out on the playa and you can see the "trash fence" in the background in one and Burning Man art installations in the other. You should go to Burning Man some year. You'd probably really dig it. Posted by: Megalion at January 20, 2005 02:44 PMThere was an article and interview with the maker on Yahoo! News: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=794&ncid=790&e=4&u=/eo/20050120/en_movies_eo/15745 Posted by: SK at January 20, 2005 03:15 PMfuckin' groovy. I want one. Posted by: Alsobiades at January 20, 2005 03:17 PMholy farkin sh!t that is cool Posted by: boz at January 20, 2005 04:13 PMWil,
I googled the JL421 Badonkadonk. Holy cow! It's real, I'm afraid. Posted by: Chris at January 20, 2005 04:39 PMThe best thing about it is the name. And the rest of it is pretty damn cool too! It looks like the vehicle that the spice pilots flew in the movie Dune. I don't know if it would fit in my garage. I have this piture in my head of driving this thing down the road and my little dog is sticking it's head out the window...drooling...you know. Where do you find this shit Wil? Posted by: Lorraine at January 20, 2005 05:11 PMIt looks like the equivalent of a VW on Tatooine; the big sandcrawlers are the SUVs. Posted by: Craig Steffen at January 20, 2005 05:58 PMLooks like a Dalek on steroids. Posted by: fred at January 20, 2005 08:28 PMHella funny. What's even better is all the folks who have posted "in addition to" and "instead of" suggestions - like "Just A Geek." Gotta have some reading material since there isn't much of a view, right? Have a good weekend, all. Posted by: AmyO at January 20, 2005 11:19 PMYou are more likely to see Obi-wan on a BMW (see Here. Posted by: Vinny at January 21, 2005 03:35 AMI'm convinced that the "JL" portion of the name stands for Jennifer Lopez. Posted by: Chad at January 21, 2005 06:16 AMWow, that is something... I wonder how it handles in snow. I could really use somethign liek that to get to work now :D Oh, and sorry about the trackback caffuffle. First time, and it took me three swings :D Posted by: Glyn at January 21, 2005 09:16 AMWhat's really funny is that you can add it to your wedding registry. Posted by: Winona at January 21, 2005 09:19 AMThat contraption may take the place of a Segway in my wish list. ;-) Who am I kidding? I want both! Posted by: Ryan at January 21, 2005 10:40 AMOh yeah... That's on the wishlist now. Thanks for pointing it out! LOL Posted by: Kimberly at January 21, 2005 11:32 AMIf you ever find yourself in the vicinity of the Stanford Campus, there's a good likelihood that you'll see it. Especially if it happens to be a Saturday during foodball season. Absolutely hilarious! What a great way to end the work week. Keep up the good work. Posted by: John Tiesi at January 21, 2005 03:45 PMHow in the hell did you come across this item? This is hysterical! Not to mention...the people who bought it also recommend buying "Just A Geek." Hmmm..... On the other hand, this vehicle is a good cross between a Hummer and a Minivan. I wonder what the other soccer moms would say if I drove their kids to the next field trip in this baby? Perhaps..."May the Farks Be With You!" ;-) Posted by: Lynn at January 21, 2005 07:18 PMFunny! You know what? That contraption looks a little like a miniature version of Jabba's ship in "Return of the Jedi." Remember when Luke, Han and the others were going to be "executed" in the Sarlacc?(spelling?) Posted by: Scott T at January 22, 2005 12:08 AMnice. well scouted. Posted by: mainja at January 29, 2005 11:28 PM
