« mr. los angeles times: tear down this wall! | Main | the ashes of american flags » May 11, 2005breathe now, think sweet thingsNolan's sick, so I've been too busy taking care of him to do much else this week. The good side is that we've gotten to watch a lot of Word Poker Tour DVDs together, but the bad side is I've lost almost all of the creative momentum that I created last week. Since my time and creative energy have suddenly become so limited, I probably won't do much blogging this week. If lack of content at WWdN creates some free time for you, I suggest spending that time outside. If you find yourself unable to go outside, because the Sun burns your skin and threatens to reveal to the world that you're really a flesh-eating Zombie, stay indoors and visit . . .
Anne and I packed about 1/3 of the Geek orders over the weekend. I'm teaching myself Scribus so I can build a cool little Chapbook out of Let Go. As soon as that's done and printed, I'll begin shipping. Comments
Aww, best to Nolan--I hope he feels all better soon. Thanks Wil, for worrying about your posse not having enough to keep our fertile minds busy while you're busy doing good works. I wish there were more time in the work day for goofing off (i.e., reading fun/informative stuff on the internet[s]). May good health spread at the Wheatons! Sorry to hear that Nolan is sick. We hope that he feels better soon and that you get your creative juices flowing again soon. I am sure that everyone reading will be anxiously awaiting the next WWdN update. Feel better Nolan!! Regards, Jeff and Tril Posted by: numberwhun at May 11, 2005 09:35 AM
Best to Nolan! :) Feel better soon kiddo, and you come back when you can, Wil! Peace, at May 11, 2005 09:42 AM
Hey Wil, look after Nolan. I suggest chicken soup, but you need those mini alphabet noodles so you can play word games on the spoon. . . . Be well and keep those creative writing juices flowing. I know how hard that is to do on a consistent basis. Posted by: Paul Darcy at May 11, 2005 10:05 AM
Hope Nolan gets to feeling better quickly. My prescription, lots of rest, video games and comic books! Get back to your faithful posse when you can! Sandra Posted by: swl-mom2Bryn at May 11, 2005 10:12 AM
here's another get well wish for nolan. prescription: hours of the Lego Star Wars game on the ps2. nothing cures feeling bad better or faster than slashing thru a battle droid with your lightsaber and watching him fall into his little component Lego pieces. and dang, i forgot how much i missed games where you don't actually ever die, just lose points. unless you're playing qui gon jinn in ep1. then you get little Xs for eyes when you fall against darth maul. and your little leg component is kinda 1/2 out of your little torso component. anyhow, feel better nolan! peace, at May 11, 2005 11:20 AM
Hey, Wil, at May 11, 2005 11:59 AM
Parenting can be exhausting, but, in the end, it's really what it's all about. Thanks for the links. I was actually going to post out a request for other good blogs (there is so much CRAP out there--it's really hard to weed through!); I'll definitely check them out (already check in on Jessica's now and then). I'm glad you wrote up the Ars Technica article--way to use your voice! Thanks. Wishing renewed good health for Nolan and renewed creative energy for you. Wil, Hugs to Nolan. It's so hard to see the kids sick. It's awsome that you have a job that you are able to take some time to take care of him. On a side note, great support of Shane, loved your response, maybe we'll see you in the NE soon! *laughing* Posted by: macchelle at May 11, 2005 12:26 PM
I just wanted to say that nickerblog is awsome, the dude cracks me up with his v-blogs... Also I have a recommendation for a group. I don't know if you have heard them or not, but the sound is along the same lines as Wilco. Artist: Jim White Label: 2004 Luaka Bop Records Posted by: Stewart Annis at May 11, 2005 01:22 PM
Not related, but I thought this might give both of you a giggle. http://www.irregularwebcomic.net/cgi-bin/comic.pl?comic=242 M Posted by: Duke1974 at May 11, 2005 02:08 PM
HOW DARE YOU! You're suggesting that we spend time outside, away from the everlasting, non-burning glow of our beloved internets?

Take care of the little one Wil with lots of hugs and kisses... Thanks for the advice for the weekend. The sun (what the hell is that, sun???, we don't get that here)... As for me, I do plan on going outside, deep into the Gifford Pinchot National Forest between Mt St Helens and Mt Adams for a little Bigfoot research with some fellow researchers from Sasquatch Northwest (yeah, seriously). Basically, we are going to stay up most of the night and get really scared waiting for stuff to happen. During the daylight hours, we will hike (or bicycle) and look around, put out bait piles, etc. This is a two day excursion. Hopefully we get some good sound recordings of unexplainable things. If you are ever in the area (W. Wash) and want to tag along, just let me know. Would make a kick ass blog... Dancing Barefoot looking for Bigfoot. :) Kel Posted by: kelsquatch at May 11, 2005 04:32 PM
Wil, I hate to hear Nolan is sick. It makes you feel bad when your kids are sick. I hope he gets well soon!! I will keep him in my thoughts. As far as blogging goes, family comes first so don't worry about it. I don't know about anyone else here, but I know one thing, I am not going anywhere!! The best to you, Anne, and all your family!! Again, can't wait to here Nolan is feeling better!! Posted by: JCade at May 11, 2005 08:32 PM
That Weezer review doesn't deal with the new album as much as it reminesces that the old albums were great... I put up a review on my lj here and would love it if you'd check it out. Posted by: strand at May 13, 2005 06:47 AM
