The power of wwdn readership is great indeed. =^) Glad you are feeling well enough to blog...but remember, take care of yourself. A healthy Wil, living a balanced life, is a happy Wil. Posted by: =^) at June 10, 2005 10:45 AM
I'll be sure to tune in for the radio show!! I'm glad to see your on the mend. Posted by: heatherr at June 10, 2005 10:59 AM
Now, make sure you don't take on too much too soon or you'll have a relapse! Are you taking your vitamins? Getting enough sleep? Did you poop today? All kidding aside, glad to see you're "among the living" again! Be well and take care! Posted by: Love Bug at June 10, 2005 11:08 AM
I'm actually at about 50%, with occasional spikes to 70%. It's much easier to sit at my desk and write than it is to walk to the end of the street and back, and I guess semi-prolific blogging could be mistaken as evidence of a full recovery, or over-doing it. As long as I conserve my energy before the show starts, I shouldn't have any trouble tonight. Posted by: Wil at June 10, 2005 11:13 AM
I voted for her and yeah...TOTALLY wish I had her body. I'm working on it. Did my crunches last night. Lifted my little hand weights. Walked up and down and up and down those stairs on my back porch. Yep. One day, I will be beautiful! Posted by: VeronicaKnight at June 10, 2005 11:15 AM
Good morning! YAY for Danica...and the voters! I'm also pleased you are feeling at least a little better than you were before. Boy, when you do something you do it well...er all the way! ;) I know what it's like to be unable to do a blessed thing and feeling as if death was sitting with me (or at least the slight sickness-induced wish for death was sitting with me :P) A big YAY for video game actors, it's about darn time. I have researched a lot of actors for my site who have had game voice work. I have talked to many of them who were at the very least frustrated with this part of voice work/acting. It was hard to imagine why this was one of the last genres to get up to date and up to snuff. It's the voices that add that next level of atmosphere to the games. Again, YAY!! Have a good one! PS - I happened to get this link in the email this morning. Don't know if you or anyone else has seen it. It's probably old news...anyway... (see #62) at June 10, 2005 11:16 AM
Oh, and I forgot. AWESOME to see someone with a brilliant mind be the eye-candy for once. I'm getting real sick of hearing about Britney and her loser husband and how good their sex is. Who gives a poop if your sex is awesome? Can you tell me how to do algebra? Huh? Yeeeaah, didn't think so. Posted by: VeronicaKnight at June 10, 2005 11:17 AM
If you want to check out an awesome web-based RSS aggregator, take a gander at FeedLounge. It's in closed alpha testing right now (I'm a tester), but if you drop them a line, I'd imagine that you could get in on the testing. I just posted my review earlier today. BTW, did you ever get my emails re: WordPress? I sent you a couple of messages after Matt asked me to contact you, and I never heard back, so I wondered if my messages got eaten by a grue or something. Posted by: Dougal at June 10, 2005 11:48 AM
Stuff! One can never have too much stuff. . . . Now go rest. Yes you, hunched over the keyboard chewing down antibiotics. Posted by: Nyarl at June 10, 2005 11:53 AM
Hey Wil- finally a post where I wont get lost in the comments. Just wanted to say hello- and say I hope you get better soon... and please keep posting info on acting in the states- I find it fascinating, even though no green card means it's unlikely I'll get a chance to be involved (unless you want to adopt me? ;) ). Anyway, continue recovering, continue blogging, and good luck with restoring balance to life. Btw- is there anyway to edit comments on here once posted? Posted by: Ta-Yu at June 10, 2005 12:00 PM
Thanks for the pimpage, Wil. Feel better very soon. Good luck on the show tonight. Phil Gordon made the final table which will be taped later today for ESPN. He's short on chips, but anything can happen! Posted by: Dr. Pauly at June 10, 2005 12:24 PM
I'd been searching for a really good web based RSS reader for some time, and just last week found bloglines. It really is great, and Wil, I'm curious what feeds you have subscribed ... want to publicize your bloglines listing? As always, best reading on the 'nets - thanks, Wil. Posted by: r4nd at June 10, 2005 12:57 PM
Hrmm... Wil was #62... but look who was #53. I would be pissed if Mayim Bialik beat me, but that's just me. :) As for Danica winning the vote... great googly moogly! My, how they DO grow up! *eyes pop out cartoon style, jaw hits floor* Posted by: antifuse at June 10, 2005 12:57 PM
yay for the power of the monkey! I'm actually doing press coverage on a play reading Danica is doing in East Hampton this sunday with Ted Hartley & Dina Merrill. And yes, my press kit mentions after her name "("Winnie" from The Wonder Years)". Guess shes resigned to not escaping that, as she mentions in the article. hope your taking it easy still! no relapses, please! Posted by: Katrina at June 10, 2005 01:13 PM

AJ: The only pic I have is my wedding pic. There isn't a soapbox to post it, unless I'm missing it. I'd email it, but I went to your site and have NO CLUE how to send it. Camera's hate me as a general rule, but even I can admit that the wedding pic's didn't turn out too bad. Posted by: VeronicaKnight at June 10, 2005 01:41 PM
Speaking of poker, the cover story of this week's CityBeat LA is about career 'prop players' being shuffled to the bottom of the high-stakes poker decks. http://www.lacitybeat.com Posted by: Will Campbell at June 10, 2005 01:44 PM
Mmmmm... Danica... **snaps out of it** Yeah, Dr. Pauly is the man, isn't he. I wish I were still in Vegas... Posted by: CJ at June 10, 2005 03:57 PM
Danica?? Didn't she just come in fourth in this year's Indy 500?? ;) Posted by: Rich at June 10, 2005 05:59 PM
W: Thanks for the tip on BlogLines. I subscribed today, and you're right, it's great. I wish the blasted feeds were faster -- by the time I got the feed for a LJ user's lyrics quiz today, 29 people had already commented and the darn thing had been solved -- but as far as I can tell, that's just the way feeds are, and not BlogLines' fault. (Geeky side note: I posted on my blog, "Wil Wheaton said: From the I've-got-a-new-favorite-rss-reader department: Bloglines.[...]" and I quoted the rest of your blurb. In response, one of my commenters replied: "Just warning you, if you reverse its polarity, it'll ionize the antimatter generators. That'll shut your browser right down." :) ) Posted by: Jen Z at June 10, 2005 07:19 PM
Why is it rednecks are always that way? Guess that's why I moved north. Sheesh. Danica. Wowzer. Posted by: Martian Anthropologist at June 10, 2005 07:51 PM
Enjoyed the radio program. It'd be nice to hear you speak semi-regularly, if it doesn't infringe on your family time too much. And yay for your friend. I voted for her several times, just 'cause you asked, not 'cause I was interested in seeing the girl in her undies. Glad she won. I hope it gives her the career boost she's looking for. Posted by: TheSingah at June 10, 2005 08:00 PM
I just finished listening to you on CCA, and I was also in the chat room. I just want you to know that you so amazingly rock. Maybe you're happier not knowing this, but I hated Wesley Crusher *I still hate the character, but I know that the writers were idiots*. I've also never seen Stand by Me. A friend introduced me to your blog and I've been hooked ever since. I try to kind of form my own blog writing style after yours...just honest and to the point, kind of like having a conversation. You're so amazing, I really respect everything you've done and continue to do. Your wife and kids are very, very lucky, as are your adorable pets. Anyway, your blog is on my checked-daily-for-updates list, hahaha. Congratulations on everything. Posted by: djacksonfanatic at June 10, 2005 08:06 PM

Wil, thanks for the comments about Bloglines. I'm glad you like our service. We're all big fans of WWdN, and your post made our day. Thanks! Posted by: Mark Fletcher at June 10, 2005 11:23 PM
Yay Danica. Usually I don't care too much for looking at pretty girls (rather have the chaps, hehe), but Danica could turn me around. She is BEAUTIFUL. Move over Alicia Silverstone, I have a new girl crush. Posted by: Patty at June 10, 2005 11:38 PM

I voted for Danica... was shocked to see her in that layout, but she looked terrific despite the shock value. You go girl! Started reading Just a Geek, and found I couldn't put it down. I was even reading in the dark, with only the glow of the TV for a light source. Already read Dancing Barefoot and loved it. YOU ARE A WRITER WIL. And a very good one at that. FYI... I too read only non-fiction growing up. If it didn't have pictures in it (as most fiction didn't) I wouldn't read or look at it. I was obsessed with reading books on Earth Science, Meteorology, Sasquatch, and Space. I still won't read fiction. LOL! (although most would consider Bigfoot fiction... don't even get me started on that tangent) Truth is stranger than fiction. I took various Creative Writing classes in High School too. And I was Editor-in-Chief of my High School Newspaper. Although that never improved my ability to spell things correctly (I STILL CAN'T SPELL SHIT).... We aren't so different Wil. I guess I'm a geek too. :) Kel at June 11, 2005 01:23 AM
BTW... You sounded really great on the "Computer America" broadcast tonight. I hope you do that again soon. Sounded like you had alot of fan support (comments, questions, emails, etc) that they didn't have time to address on air. For anyone who missed it, follow the link in Wil's post and click on their archives section for 6-10-05 (first hour). And I am looking forward to your next book "Would you like kids with that?", as I'm nearly a step-parent myself. My live-in boyfriend has two kids (16 & 13 yr old). And although he doesn't have full-time custody at the moment, they are here with us a few days during the week and every other weekend. I'd love to hear about your experiences as a step-parent. THANKS FOR WRITING A BOOK ABOUT IT! I CAN'T WAIT! :) Kel Posted by: kelsquatch at June 11, 2005 02:25 AM
Very glad to hear you're feeling better. And yay for you for having the strength and insight to put your priorities in order! It took me ten minutes of utter frustration to remember where I know "ghosts appear and fade away" from. And then I remembered! I had just heard it in a breathtaking remake by Melomane on their first album, Resolvo. at June 11, 2005 06:31 AM
Been using bloglines for a while. It's the only way to go. Watched yesterday's game and had the joy(?) of listening to the BoSox announcers talk about how "small" Wrigley is and how you can't turn around without running into Harry Caray something-or-other. Great score at the end. Absolutely wonderful game. My Yankees buddy and I finally had something in common. Posted by: Carol in NoVa at June 11, 2005 07:04 AM
Glad to see you're up and around, if slowly. Do what the doc says and don't overdo it. I remember when I had mono; I was in grad school, but it was in the summer so I didn't miss classes thankfully. It was a couple of months before I got anywhere near 100 percent of my old energy. Anyway, keep on smellin' the roses! Spacewriter Posted by: spacewriter at June 11, 2005 07:49 AM
Wil... Last night, my roommate and I were flipping channels, and watched one of guilty pleasures, Legends of the Hidden Temple on NickGAS. Just now, I turned the TV back on, and it was still on GAS...and Family Double Dare was on...and the celebrity guests were you and Laura Winslow from Family Matters! I nearly choked. It's just gone to commercial, and I'm praying your team wins so I can watch you and the family do the obstacle course. Hilarious! -Karen Posted by: Aethera21 at June 11, 2005 09:44 AM
Hi Will, just discovered your site. I am thrilled that you proudly proclaim yourself to be a geek. Not many famous people would admit that. I have to confess that I once loathed the character of Wesley Crusher and even wrote a short story theorizing how Wesley would have mucked up Federation history if had been in the movie First Contact. It can still be found in Google groups in the URL with this message. Posted by: Spunkey at June 11, 2005 09:51 AM
Hi Wil, Just curious, were you aware that the notifier you linked to with the word "notifier" was for IE, not Firefox? No biggie, it's easy to find the Firefox notifier, but I thought you might want to know. Stace Posted by: Lytspeed at June 11, 2005 05:46 PM

Danica front cover. It’s soooooo nice to see the fruits of my labour, all the effort of pushing that key to vote. at June 13, 2005 07:53 AM
Danica McKellar, Danica Patrick? I know who would Winnie my vote, no disrespect to the talented Ms. Patrick. So many Danicas, so little time. Posted by: DPJ2005 at June 13, 2005 07:54 AM
Danica's err... recent exposure made the news here in Toronto! Her photo spread was mentioned onthe news radio station. Kewl! Posted by: Marsha M at June 14, 2005 09:31 AM
