Tonight's Family Guy was the best thing to hit television since they added Plinko to The Price Is Right.

The A-Ha video! I actually cheered and clapped out loud when that started. Sadly, I know the friend I share the tapes with will be too young to get it. Posted by: JulieOh at July 17, 2005 10:18 PM
Chinese Evil Monkey was the greatest. Fear the monkey Posted by: jtintle at July 17, 2005 10:24 PM
I will watch it. Have you been watching Robot Chicken? I started watching it because I discovered Les Claypool did the theme song. It's part of Adult Swim which I'm sure you're famular with ;) Posted by: Meeker at July 17, 2005 10:28 PM
I hope I'm not the only one under 20 to understand the A-Ha reference... Posted by: Sierra Mike at July 17, 2005 10:33 PM
Poor Meg. I want so badly for her to get some form of revenge. Posted by: CGG at July 17, 2005 10:57 PM
I am seriously so upset that I have no TV for the summer. I'm home from college for the summer, and I'm TV-less until I go back. I'm missing so much Family Guy!!! I'll have to live vicariously through you Wil, lol. Ah, well. Hopefully someone from school is taping it for me and I can have a FG marathon when we get back. The A-Ha video was amazing. Robot Chicken's "Napoleon Bonamite" was freaking amazing, too. Wow, wow, wow. Posted by: tim at July 17, 2005 11:15 PM
The A-ha bit is my new all time favorite Family Guy moment. Posted by: Lane at July 17, 2005 11:32 PM
I'm now so jealous. Here in the UK we haven't got new Family Guy episodes yet. I'll just have to go watch my DVDs. Posted by: Kai at July 18, 2005 12:58 AM
The A-Ha video was the best cut-away ever. That was my favorite video as a kid in the 80s, and to see them do that with it? Neo-Classic! "Not Meg!" Poor girl. Good thing Mila is teh HAWT!!!eleven1!exclaimation point More evidence: "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhput it backahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I wouldn't recommend anyone doing anything illegal or anything, but I'm certain that if you missed last night's Family Guy, it will be up as a .torrent by Monday at the latest. Posted by: Kevin M. at July 18, 2005 03:50 AM
True, the A-ha moment was some of the funniest television I've seen in a while. But my vote for second goes to Stewie with the plastic bag: Hehehe. What? Too soon? Posted by: John Zorn at July 18, 2005 04:44 AM
I did not get the "INXS-boy" remark. at July 18, 2005 05:12 AM
Absolutely true. It was capped off by being followed by the second best episode from the new season. The one in which Brian teaches English. I have to agree with another poster that the Asian (they were in Asiantown) Evil Monkey was the best. Albiet Adam We had me laughing out loud as well. Posted by: Thane9 at July 18, 2005 05:20 AM
My favorite moments were when the newscaster said "Scientific studies show that if your hand is bigger then your face, you may have cancer" and the other anchor brought her hand up to her face, and the first one smacked it really hard. childish jokes make me laugh, what can I say.

All of the Mayor Adam West bits are awesome. The real Adam West is such a good sport. But the a-ha! video was great. And I loved the end of that bit, too: "Where have you been?" "I DON'T KNOW!!!!" Good times. Posted by: Christina at July 18, 2005 05:50 AM
I loved last night's episode...The Goonies...Adam We...not to mention also a shout out to another childhood favorite, The NeverEnding Story. Posted by: Nate at July 18, 2005 06:40 AM
The "Take On Me" video had both my wife and I laughing on the floor, while at the same time admiring the shit out of it. Either they took the original video and substituted Chris in, or they completely copied the original video animation, which would be remarkable. But yeah, the TIE fighters, the Goonies, and the Neverending Story...Mr. McFarlane is definitely One Of Us. Posted by: J. Erik Lundberg at July 18, 2005 07:02 AM
haha it was totally awesome. i love family guy. any bets it'll be the only show to ever be cancelled twice? lol Posted by: i_bleed_magenta at July 18, 2005 07:03 AM
"Where have you been? I DON'T KNOW!!!!"
More giggling. Posted by: sorebikr at July 18, 2005 07:31 AM
I laughed so very hard last night. Although I must ask that we have moment of silence for Falcor... loved that luck dragon. Posted by: Jennabird at July 18, 2005 08:53 AM
It's funny that you should call out last night's episode. I generally like the show and watch it, but I was busy with other stuff last night and just happened to catch it as it started. My wife was in the other room with a friend who doesn't watch much T.V. and I called them both into the room to re-play the beginning with Stewie and the plastic bag and the A-HA video rip-off. We were all on the floor laughing with the friend resolving to watch the show from now on. Between the A-HA ripoff and the Stewie-Plastic Bag, the grocery store sequence was the greatest opening to a sitcom that I've seen in a long time. Maybe ever. To the person who asked about the INXS reference, from wikipedia "A new INXS release, 1997's Elegantly Wasted, had barely come out when Hutchence was found dead in a hotel room of the Ritz-Carlton in Double Bay in Sydney, the victim of an apparent hanging. The New South Wales coroner determined his death was a suicide, but some rumors circulated that it was an accident (perhaps while attempting autoerotic asphyxiation). None of the rumors were ever proven to be true." Posted by: ttrentham at July 18, 2005 08:59 AM
The A-Ha video was one of the coolest things *ever.* I remember how cool that video was when it came out, and seeing it quoted in this contest totally made my night. :-) Posted by: Rachel Barenblat at July 18, 2005 09:21 AM
I have to say this was possibly the best ep of Family Guy I've ever seen. I LOVED Stewie trying to get the bag over his head. The "My god you either had a C Section or are Wonder Woman" line made it all the better. Brilliant! Posted by: JamieM at July 18, 2005 09:28 AM
And here I was worrying that I was the only one that really enjoyed it. The shows are getting more and more obscure, but DAMN they're awesome. Posted by: Clay at July 18, 2005 09:57 AM
The INXS part was brilliant as was Stewies attempt to get the bag over his head and the Csection reference (though I think they explained Stewie's football head a while back). But last weeks ipecac race was pretty damn hilarious too. Posted by: cybele at July 18, 2005 10:03 AM
That was the best episode of Family Guy I've seen in quite some time. Stewie's diaper was so full that he hadn't eaten in 4 days because there wasn't room for any more! HAHAHA!! And the Quagmire theme song was absolutely hysterical! And it ends with "Let's have sex!" HAHAHAHA!!!!!! I hope FOX keeps Family Guy for a long time-it sucked when they cancelled it the first time. Posted by: porkerella at July 18, 2005 10:28 AM
I loved Jackie Chan part "Malcolm in Middle!" Posted by: Joel Blain at July 18, 2005 10:38 AM
That episode was the best thing! oh am I the only one that found it hilarious that right after the Goonies showed up Corey Haim was there too... Stewie: "Hey, Corey Haim what are you doing here, are you here with the Goonies too?" hahahahahahaha! so funny! I loved the Adam We thing. ok I'm gonna stop now cause the whole damn thing was too funny. Posted by: Cara at July 18, 2005 12:07 PM
This happens EVERY damn time!!! I miss the ONE episode everyone's talking about and now I'm completely lost. Dammit all!!! Well, it sounds like it was good. sniff. Okay then. bye. Posted by: Alison at July 18, 2005 02:23 PM
This was absolutely one of the best yet. Of course, it featured one of my favorite running gags... Chris' Evil Monkey! Family Guy time is together time for my wife Barbara and I -- something we can enjoy and discuss as a couple. (Gee... that sounds sort of lame when I put it that way, but the most mundane activities like watching TV are special fun when shared with someone you love -- and so much better when what you are sharing is a cut above the norm. That's why I love hearing about Wil at Home... Wil UNDERSTANDS the importance of those little moments. at July 18, 2005 06:47 PM
Love that A-Ha Video! And Thank God - I'm not the only "child of the eighties" who got that video reference....

Man I love Family Guy but I totally feel like I'm missing out on all the good stuff since I moved to the UK. I do hope they are quick to bring out the Season 4 DVD once the new season ends! Posted by: C.R.Doster at July 20, 2005 10:03 AM
OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG! I watch Family Guy religiously, and this was just as funny as the one with Optimus Prime from "When You Wish Upon A Weinstein" episode. I screamed so loud at the Ah-Ha video. My wife and I said it was definitely one of the top 5 most funniest Family Guy episodes. One of the best things I love about FG are the cultural references that give a funny/ghast spike. Life when Brian said to Peter in another episode, "Your joke is as lame as FDR's legs." And then everyone choked on thier tongues and Brian then replied, "Oh? Uhhh, was that too soon?" BRILLIANT! Okay, okay, enough ranting about Family Guy. We need to rant about VENTURE BROTHERS !!!! I can't believe I actually got my wife to like an Adult Swim series. She loves all the cultural references and I love the mockery of Johhny Quest. Posted by: Antebios at July 20, 2005 02:22 PM
